City girl in Montana looking for her Romeo. Sounds like the start to a Hallmark movie right? Well, it would, if they had movies about idiot women flying across the country to marry a man they’d never met. That’s what I did. I responded to an ad in a newspaper that I found on the train. And now I’m trying to find Horseshoe Ranch so that I can marry some cowboy I’ve never even seen. And no, this isn’t the 1800s. I’m just desperate. To make matters worse, the cowboy doesn’t even know I’m coming. I figured life couldn’t get any worse in Montana. I was wrong.

Publisher's Summary
Come along for the ride to meet feisty Boston city girls who know what they want, and rugged Montana men who just need to be loved. It's 1900, and things are changing fast in sleepy Sun River. As the town begins to expand, its inhabitants are getting restless, looking for love and adventure.
Why would an accomplished governess respond to an advertisement in the Matrimonial Times? Myra Gilbert had never considered such a thing, but something has awoken within her and she is determined to take her chance on love.
Carlton Green claimed his lands, and now has the deeds in his grasp. But something is missing in his life. Will his quest to find love fill that hole, or is there something from his past that could change everything and leave him with nothing?

Sweet Story
Would you consider the audio edition of Mail Order Bride - A Bride for Carlton to be better than the print version?
I truly enjoyed the performance and was able to listen while I worked. For this book, I enjoyed each equally.
Which scene was your favorite?
When Carlton showed up at Myra's home. I enjoyed the description of Carlton through Myra's eyes.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Normally I would have probably listened to the whole in one sitting but I started too late in the day.
Any additional comments?
The story is a sweet and clean tale of Myra finding her love though an advertisement. The story shared the doubts of both the man and woman about their worth as a husband and wife. It has a happy ending and I encourage to take time to read or listen to the story.

Lots of Potential
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
It was a quick fun listen. Short and to the point.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
I did like the way the ending wrapped things up and didn't leave you to wonder what would happen or why.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
I thought he did great on the male narration, however the female part seemed very robotic.
Do you think Mail Order Bride - A Bride for Carlton needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
The first half of the book was great, but the second half seemed rushed. It would be nice to have a prequel to this book.
Any additional comments?
I would try this author again. The book had alot of potential to be great.
