Publisher's Summary

A Paranormal Women's Fiction adventure for those who believe that finding your true self late in life is a blessing, not a curse - even if it turns out you may actually be cursed.

After finding my soon-to-be ex-husband together with my soon-to-be ex-assistant, I realize his "for better or for worse" didn't include my 40s.

An extended vacation on a remote Italian island sounds like the perfect antidote to a midlife crisis - until I arrive. I'm expecting Chianti and pasta. What I get is a run-down bed-and-breakfast with the oldest Nonna in existence.

There's something about this island. Something odd. Like how everyone keeps calling me Mamma or how I'm the first tourist in decades.

And that's before I wake up to a talking chipmunk holding a glass of wine. He says I have something ancient in me, and for once, it's not my creaking joints.

When I finally discover the island's deepest secrets, I know my 40s are about to be fabulous, if only I can survive long enough to enjoy them.

beware cliffhanger

The story idea was a good idea, but it was a bit slow going. I decided to continue and finished the book only to discover there was no ending. I would have preferred knowing there would be a second book prior to buying this first one. The story is entertaining, once I really started paying attention. I had to return to the beginning twice in order to put all the story together. I was not able to let my mind wander due to all of the action and the number of active characters in each scene. I'm not sure I really liked the narrator though. She wasn't bad, but there was just something missing. I did really like her voices for the characters... just not so much the main character.

Beware Another Cliffhanger

Creative light fantasy storyline with plenty of action suspense and mystery. Not just your average midlife crisis/divorce story. Filled with a little romance and flavored with the paranormal. Narrator does a great job portraying many characters and her Italian accent is a plus. Can’t wait for next in series.

I enjoyed the book

I really enjoyed the audible version. Very clear and easy to follow 👍😊. I would like for the characters to be a little more developed 🤗

This book really really sucks...

There is nothing, and I mean nothing redeeming about this book except for the narrator being good. The humor came off as awkward and embarrassing at best. The story drags along and you're given little to no information on what she is, what's going on or what most of the other beings do or are. the story location and world in general is so severely underdeveloped its sad. The male main character blows off the female main character as though she's can't get the time of day and then out of nowhere this awkward request for a date, I mean come on wtf. The story line is so slow and boring, and lots of it is like repeating the same tidbits over and over again that I just had enough and could get through the whole book, had to drop it like a bad habit.

Kind of different

I will read the next book because my curiosity is piqued. I may have enjoyed it better with a different narrator.

Great start to a new series

Heloise Hull has crafted a a great start to a new series. The characters were well created and interesting. The storyline was original and kept my attention from start to finish. Kitty Hendrix have a stellar performance. I highly recommend this book/audiobook.
