Publisher's Summary

Nothing can go wrong with being in love with a demon and having a dragon familiar whose idea of a fun time is watching me plummet to the ground, right? Now that things have settled down, I’m hoping to finally get some peace and quiet to spend with Havoc.

Instead, we get a guy who can walk the river of the dead, a centaur that seems allergic to pants, and an angel who has only one true love: himself.

This is the group of misfits I’ve been given to protect the district.

Sometimes I can’t help but wonder how we stopped an unbelievably powerful dark mage.

After finding a strange book in the middle of the woods that seems to be connected to curse magic, I find myself in the presence of someone from my past…someone I never expected to meet again. As the clues lead us into a district on the brink of destruction, Havoc and I realize that in order to stop the district from collapsing and taking down our friends with it, we can’t do it alone. With the assistance of my chaotic crew, we are going to stop this darkness before it consumes those we care about.

But everything comes at a cost, because when you work with magic, nothing is predictable.

Wrongest Scooby Gang ever!

This book needs to be heard in order because (a) there’s a huge cast of characters from the series
and (b) the juvenile and physical comedy will feel overly shallow unless you’ve at least heard book 1, which better balances the hilarity with heart and heartache. With the exception of 1 new member,
the cast of magical misfits of mage, demon, centaur, minotaur, forest druid, vampire, Angel, cop, familiar/dragon, skinwalker and a death walker with two consciousnesses all hail from the prior books. The magical mystery in this one wasn’t as engaging as the previous books, leaving the banter and the physical comedy to carry the story, along with two MM scenes and a lot of p😜rny humor. But, if you loved the previous books like I did, you’ll welcome getting to spend more time with this crazy crew.

Another winner

Another win by Alice Winters!!! Miles and Havoc plus their merry band of mischief makers are up against another character from Miles’ past. There is plenty of humor in this book. I loved the addition of Lachlan. Can’t wait to see what develops with him.

Another great story in this series. I do hope Alice continues to write more with Mikes and Havoc as the main characters either Menace.

Murder, Mayhem, Magic

Mage Miles' familiar Menace embodies his name and is constantly thwarting Miles' demon partner, Havoc, who threatens the scratchy fiery furball on a daily basis. With students dying and weird magic involved, Miles needs all the help he can get including the flirty centaur and narcissistic angel who make Havoc jealous with their attentions. Too many coincidences collide and Miles’ magic isn’t controllable. Can he count on those around him or will he be caught up in the maelstrom? Non-stop action and adventure with moments of awe and Oh my!

What could go wrong?

With Miles and Havoc once again trying to save the world from Jeff’s dark magic, what could possibly go wrong? This time their motley crew has added a dragon familiar who has more bad attitude than smarts and is more interested in sun bathing than helping. But somehow this group of misfits is able to stick together and win the day…or so they think.

So glad this series is being continued!

I was very excited to find this addition to the Mage’s Familiar series! It kind of ends on a cliff hanger, so I’m assuming more are on the way.

Amazing as always

I love this narrator and have not come across an audiobook he has read that he hasn't done a great job with. I always love a good Alice Winters book (which is everyone she has ever written). I always go through such a roller coaster of emotions, and spend half the book laughing so much.

I really enjoyed it

Really good as usual. You should listen to it after the other books in the series or you probably won't enjoy it as much. Greg is an excellent narrator and really suits this series. Would recommend.

Loved it!

I really enjoyed the book. The story was very interesting and the narrator was great. It is incredible how he is able to do so many characters with such distinct voices. The narrator really brought the story to life. I have loved the series and hope there will be another book to follow.
