Publisher's Summary

This is the story about how I died. Not really.... I mean, I don't remember most of it, thank goodness. Long story short, I was betrayed. Some people I thought I could trust invaded my sky palace, stole my women, and enslaved my pet shadow hounds.

I was destroyed, utterly. Or so they thought.

Somehow, mana, the source of my previous power, brought me back. The backstabbing weasels think they are safe, barricaded in their strongholds. Here's the horrible part. They willingly sacrificed their own flesh and blood for security. And they had the nerve to call me evil?

Death wasn't all bad, I guess. It showed me what was truly important. But before I can get around to living my second life, I have some retribution to dish out.

Yes, some will call me unnatural. Others, evil. Blah blah blah.

I call myself the Manaborn.

Contains mature themes.

TRASH

So, I listened to this and got to chapter 5 and had to return it. This was just another one of those garage books about a man and his harem.
Spoiler, well not too much if you have a brain. This MC was a strong man before, but he managed to get killed and reborn. This guy then turns to first woman he finds and is completely captivated by this woman, he then sees another woman and is completely captivated by her. This guy then shares all the information about himself with these unknown women because he's hard up for them. Save your money because this MC was written by an author who is pussy crazy. He also follows most other authors in the harem, litrpg role of making MC stupid and woman crazy. TRASH!!

nope with spoilers.

the book is nothing but a vehicle for lewd and immoral situations like some people will make something to eat so they justify eating all the gravy or having a sandwich with their mayo, the mc also contradicts himself and his direction he set for himself this time he was going to form a close group of loyal friends and yet he takes all the girls including his right hand mans wife(implied its going to happen). then the progression is half assed and it plays out like a power fantasy.

The MC is a total creep!

I haven't even made it past the 1 hour mark, and the MC has sexually assaulted some poor girl! He also wont stop going on and on about "how mysteries and erratic females are!" He's that one dude in high school that no one liked, and he cant figure out why! Even worse, after he assaulted this girl, he forced her to "become his woman" and she just follows his instructions without question! Do NOT get this book!

Really really enjoyed this book

I have listened to hundreds of this type of genre and I usually don’t write reviews because it doesn’t stir enough emotion for me to do so……BUT this author has a very good premise and his writing style is excellent! It has the perfect amount of adult content that doesn’t just focus on that aspect and completely forgo the entire plot. I thoroughly enjoyed the narrator and author and am greatly saddened that the second one isn’t out yet! Not to mention that the MC is super powerful which is exciting, but he is in a new body that has to rise to the position of power that he had in the past, so not everything is handed to him on a silver platter. Please write some more Cassius, I am definitely looking forward to it!!!!!

Give me a break

Had I stopped and paid more attention to who the author of this book was, I would have saved my credit. Misogynistic dribble. This guy obviously writes to fulfill his own fantasies. I’m guessing it’s also the fantasy scenario for many others as well, otherwise none of his books would sell!

Standard.

Nothing exciting really happens. If you like the harem genre, its that but pretty boring. The power scaling in this has 0 gravity for the levels given. Main character is weak and strong randomly. Author tries to give the girls personality and depth, but i cant tell you the difference in their looks, why they like the mc, or why theyre in the story aside from sex scenes. I finished it and would sit through the next one, but I wouldnt recommend it. id categorize it under, eh listened to everything else. night as well.

My advice to the author is simple. Show. Don't tell. Your mc's backstory is more interesting than the book i am listening to.

childish and weak

the main character reminds you how great he is and how nobles he has become, but it's a judgemental egotistical welp with no depth or truth. this story reads like a teenagers day dream. the lack of true depth in any of the characters makes the story dredge on without any care for the people. the author dictates the story instead of pulling you in, more like a history book than a novel.

dialog and character interaction is shit

The characters talk at eachother not to each other. and minor spoilers for the first like hour. dude inhabits a prisoners body and escapes with a girl who knew the body that was there. it takes him saying yeah I'm not your bf and she's like oh ok that's hot like ....what??
