Great Ending but a Little Slow

If you liked the other books in the series then there is no reason not to get this one as well. However, I did somehow find this one harder to get through. I even found myself taking breaks from it with other books. I think the problem was that there were so many interesting things dangled in front of me, but the book itself just plodded along and was mostly uninteresting until the last hour or so. I did really enjoy the increasing romance and love between the two main characters, and the rest of the characters were as interesting as always. The plot itself was also interesting, but somehow the journey through it was a penance instead of a joy. All the same, I think most people will still enjoy it if they enjoyed the previous books. I'm not sure if there would be another book in this series, but I would have enjoyed more exploration of the events after the climax and less of the plodding detective work in the beginning.

Excellent series!

These books just got better and better! I loved how each book was its own story, but there were longer story arcs that developed throughout the series. The final book wrapped everything up in such a perfect way!

I also liked that even though these books dealt with “monsters”, there isn’t any gory stuff. Any peril the main characters faced was minimal, and you knew they’d get out of it unharmed. This all makes the the perfect book for those who want some adventure but who don’t want dark and grim.

Books 4 & 5 were the best of all 6

I liked this series enough to listen to 50 hours of it. I didn't love it, and wouldn't have been too upset if I wasn't able to finish it for some reason, but it was entertaining for the most part. Some interesting twists from the Gothic fantasy/monster tropes. And Marian Hussey was a phenomenal narrator!

Love this entire series!

These are my favorite stories I've listened to so far on Audible. The last 3 books do not disappoint, and wraps the series up nicely in the end.

Enjoyed the stories. Some repetition was a bit tedious but other than that very vivid and delightful.

Absolutely Loved the Books

I’m sad to have come to the end. I so loved the narrator as well. To bad the books can’t continue on and on. This would make a good movie or T.V. Show. Five stars all the way.

Simply fun

These books were a little predictable, but fun and with enough twists to entertain.

Delightful and Imaginative

I bought the first 3 books set as something to pass time. I have been thoroughly intrigued by the series. Although not to my typical genre, I was captivated by the series and binged on it. The reader is excellent.
