Publisher's Summary
Theron - Dark haired, duty bound and deceptively deadly. He's the leader of the Argonauts, an elite group of guardians that defends the immortal realm from threats of the Underworld.
From the moment he walked into the club, Casey knew this guy was different. Men like that just didn't exist in real life - silky shoulder-length hair, chest impossibly broad, and a predatory manner that just screamed dark and dangerous. He was looking for something. Her. She was the one. She had the mark. Casey had to die so his kind could live, and it was Theron's duty to bring her in. But even as a 200-year-old descendent of Hercules, he wasn't strong enough to resist the pull in her fathomless eyes; to tear himself away from the heat of her body. As war with the Underworld nears, someone will have to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Theron The Divine Hot Argonaut Guardian Leader !!
Any additional comments?
Elisabeth Naughton have invented a true spunky Greek Gods and underlings Story. This book is full of excitement, lust, Demons, powerful Gods and Gorgeous Theron leader of the Argonaut Guardian's. Full of action and many additional characters this book has kept me entertained to the very end. So glad they released book 1 of the Eternal Guardians. I have had book 3 on my wish list for ages thinking i don't want to jump into the series with-out the very important first installment. Elizabeth Wiley done the Perfect Narration and her voice suited each character beautifully. It was intriguing to find out a bit about all the characters that will be included in the rest of this thrilling series. I hope book 2 is on it's way to us and will download it as soon as it is released. Totally YUMMY in every way :)

Sometimes there are things I just can't get past
The premise of this story was kind of interesting. But overall, it let me down. It's rather generic, the lack of sex scenes was underwhelming for a romance novel...honestly the romance was kind of lacking as well. These are all things I can look past if only the narration was done well.
Elizabeth Wiley doesn't have a youthful voice like the character and when she voices her it's like a 20 year old girl from 1955, something about the rhythm and pronunciation was not of someone for this age and time. The male characters also all came across odd and scratchy.
It's sad. I was really looking forward to this book.

I tried
I really wanted to like this book. I stopped, rewinded, started it again, but to me it just didn't work. I've rewinded this book more than any book I've ever heard because I did like parts in it and I just know I liked it and I really needed to give it more of a chance to grow on me. I'm thinking maybe I was in a bad mood that day so rewind it again today and listen again. I'm just going to have to face the fact that this one is not going to be one of "those" books for me. So I'm just going to say I wish I'd used my credit on something else. This would be a good "on sale" book for me.

Delicious Greek Hero
I first read the Eternal Guardians series and was happy to see them finally on audible. This is a great PNR series, something different. It isn’t about vampires, shifters, or things that go bump in the night, although some things that go bump; bite back, but that’s off topic. This series is about the seven greatest heroes of Greek Mythology and their descendants. Marked is about Theron, descendants of Greek mythology’s greatest hero, Hercules and Casey, a human woman. From the moment Theron meet Casey the sexual attraction between them was scorching. Theron knows there is more to Casey then an ordinary human woman and even though he is betrothed to someone else, he can’t stop the feelings that Casey arise in him.
Casey is a strong, fierce woman who will fight deadly monsters (and she does) if it means she will save a friend by doing so. She fights with everything that she has for what she believes is right and really isn’t afraid to tell anyone otherwise. She doesn’t allow Theron to decide the decision in her life; even if he is the hottest thing she has ever seen in her life. Theron is a hot, steaming alpha male. He is the captain of the guardians and expects everyone to jump when he yells, that is until he meets Casey. Give him a sword and he will fight his way through anything. Give him Casey and he is at a loss for words.
Narration was decent. I didn’t like the accent she was trying to portray for Theron. It came off wrong. But besides that, it was decent.

Greek Mythological Romance.
I have been on the lookout for a series that I can sink my teeth into and with this book I think I have found one. It isn't in the league of some of my other favorites (Kresley Cole, Thea Harrison or Gena Showalter) but close and the story is engrossing that my day just flew by as I listened. I liked the characters and the world that has been created by Elisabeth Naughton. I'm always a sucker for Greek Mythology, I love how stories can be twisted and remolded into stories. At first I was leery about Theron because he was a bit prejudice but Cassy wasn't afraid to call him on it and soon he learned that he was wrong. I am always a fan of strong woman and Casey soon shows her true colors and makes for a great character. I look forward to reading more from this series. I see that many reviewers did not like the narrator. I thought she was good and don't understand all the bad reviews, mind you she is not the best but good none the less.

An interesting PNR with mythology
The narration was okay. I don't feel like added or detracting from my enjoyment. It got the job done.
I liked this book, but I didn’t love it. It has great potential as a book one of the series as the writing was pretty fast paced. Constant action and an interesting mix of mythology made the novel interesting. I really liked Theron, but I liked the sister Isadora more than I liked Casey. I didn’t want Theron and Isadora together, but I liked Isadora’s inner fortitude. Both sisters obviously had the capacity for self-sacrifice and get love, so that was really cool. I never quite understood King Leonidas and his fascination with humans when he didn’t really care about humans either. I also had a hard time with “Eternal guardians” who were more human acting, eating sandwiches and wearing jeans. But there was a clear sense of duty and what was right, and the guardians strived to do their duty. How they could spend time on earth fighting demons but be clueless about Misos, half breeds, was beyond me.
I actually enjoyed Hades, who was kind of a villain, and his wife Persephone. They brought a special kind of mischief to the table and it was entertaining. I also enjoyed having a woman, Atalanta, be the villain because of the discrimination she suffered. I felt her pain, though her means of exacting retribution was too extreme. I look forward to her next plan to slaughter the Argoleans. I am hoping book 2 will fill in some more background and tell us more about Isadora’s deal with Hades and Persephone.

WOW, WOW, WOW....... I'M IN LOVE
From the very first Chapter until the last I was absolutely consumed by this awesome listen and I found myself using stealth and ingenuity tactics. So, I growled at anyone who dared to speak to me, I let the answer-phone pick-up my messages, gave my husband the remote and a beer, bribed the kids, ordered in pizza and then happily became just a 'ghost' for the day. Why you may ask? well......
It's such a richly described, well-written story that'll have you picturing each Chapter, be surprised at the twists and turns and you'll become so emotionally invested as this entertaining, powerful soul-mate love story deliciously unfolds. There's some really great characters, plenty of villains, interesting sub plots, sexy drool-worthy Argonauts, Greek Gods, Demons and it's full of mythology.
A very enjoyable thrilling fantasy romance, with lots of action, passion, sacrifice, lust, Demon slaying and well narrated by someone who breathes life into the characters, puts emotion into the storytelling and adds plenty of feeling into all the drama.
Worth a credit? YES - not only worth the credit but I downloaded all the others that are available too and sooo worth the beer, bribe and pizza money - and all the phone calls I had to return too!!

DNF - Overly dramatic, outdated bodice-ripper
Pathetic start to a series that has high ratings. The writing style is old-fashioned and overly dramatic. The abundance of outdated slang in the first few chapters was more entertaining than plotlines (mind-controlling rapist becomes the lover). The tele-novella-style performance was about the only thing the narrator could do to save this book, but her male voices were too cartoon villain, instead of dangerously sexy hero.

Demons, Hades, Argonauts, Humans
I loved this story. Although Theron is supposed to wed another and hates humans. Fate has decreed that he will not only rescue Casey and human but she is his One. The Argonauts are the defenders of a hidden kingdom and guardians of the gates that keep others out but allows them to travel to earth and intermingle with humans. This intermingling produces off springs that are left to fend for themselves because the kings don't tell the Argonauts about them. Naturally this causes trouble between the two groups.
Theron is a descendant of Hercules and when he goes about doings the kings business he discovers the off springs. What follows is descriptions of demon attacks, a god plotting revenge, Hades and his wife making bargains by telling half truths. Two sisters who find each other and so much more. Although there are many subplots they all weave together to create a great story. As on opening to another great series this is a good start.

Fair Start, Dont Care for Narrator
A bit boring, but I stayed with it and it turned out fair. Second book is better.
Narrator? Well, there are better ones out there, but I was able to stand it.
Like I stated before, I went with the second book because I liked the back story and it's far better, narrator still not that great, but it'll do.
Enjoying the story

My sister recommended this series to me as she had read them all (that have been released so far) and thought I would enjoy it. I downloaded this as an audiobook, as it was also recommended by Audible due to my browsing history. How's that for a coincidence?
I started to listen and was quickly pulled into the story. The narrator, Elizabeth Wiley, did a wonderful job in telling the story, but I'm afraid her attempt at foreign accents sounded a bit odd and I would have preferred if she hadn't attempted it at all. Nevertheless, her narration was crystal clear and her tone and modulation for the various characters brought them to life.
Acacia "Casey" Simopolus is a wonderful character. I really liked her. She is not your average wimpy type. She is more kick ass than mousy, which helps when dealing with unruly drunks at the bar she works part time in. But when a mysterious stranger saves her and she later returns the favour, she finds herself thrust into a dangerous world where immortal guardians protect the human population from demons sent from the Underworld.
Theron is a character I wasn't sure if I liked or not. To me, he comes across as very controlling, arrogant and sexist (mostly old fashioned sexism) at times, which made me want to punch him, and I'm not normally a violent person. He is a descendant of Hercules and the leader of a group of guardians, who "police" the demons sent by Hades to the human realm. He and his fellow Argonauts live in Argolea, a city which is in another dimension. When he meets Casey, his life takes an unexpected turn. Could he kill his soul mate to protect his home?
This story is mostly a typical paranormal romance, with lots of action and danger mixed in. However, there are several twists and turns that keep one guessing at what is really going on. There are a few characters other than Casey and Theron who have their say in this book too, which gave this story a more rounded feel. I was intrigued with Isadora, who, although a princess, seemed to have a very weak character and let herself get pushed around, especially by her father King Leonidas. However, she has a core of steel that she did not expose for most of the story, and I actually wrote her off as pathetic because of her lack of back bone. BUT, when she did show her metal, WOW! I certainly have now changed my mind about her! There are also a few other intriguing characters, both in the human world and in Argolea who have caught my interest, but I will leave it to you to discover them for yourselves.
One thing I will say about this story is the world building is excellent. The characters are well developed and extremely lifelike. I have always been intrigued with Greek gods and their offspring such as Hercules, whose exploits became legend (or are they myth?) over time. So reading about his descendants, who were with Jason on his voyage for the Golden Fleece, excited me. I am also a huge sucker for paranormal romances in general, so I am looking forward to continuing with this series and I will (hopefully) get to read/listen to Entwined as soon as I can.
Elisabeth Naughton has written an exciting start to a series. I love her fast paced writing style and the flow is wonderful. I will be continuing to read this series, but I do have one of her romantic suspense novels sitting on my Kindle, which I hope to now read in the near future too!
Due to scenes of a sexual nature that are on the explicit side, I do not recommend this book for younger readers. However, I highly recommend this book if you love erotic paranormal romances. - Lynn Worton

Excellent narration of a well written book
A welcome deviation from the standard fantasy/paranormal genre.
Based loosely upon the Greek Heroes and Gods, this is a welcome deviation from the standard vampire or were novel. Both the character and world building get off to a good start in this first-in-series.
This was the first book by Elisabeth Naughton I had ever bought, and after listening to the excellent narration by Elizabeth Wiley I quickly downloaded the remaining in the series so far, and bought the electronic versions for my Kindle.
The narration is good, consistent throughout. The characters are all voiced differently, with good consistency. The pace, intonation and inflection is also good.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book (and I'm writing this review after my third listen in a year) and have since gone in to buy more from both author and narrator.
