If you look at it superficially, in respect to machines, it is safe to say that any change in the structure of the machine, the data stored in the memory or its data composition, in order to improve the efficiency and the effectiveness of the machine’s performance is an undeniable sign of learning in a machine. When you start to delve deeper into this subject, only a couple of these changes can be categorized as machine learning.

Story
Simply put, machine learning is about teaching machines to think and make decisions as we would. The difference between the way machines learn and the way we do is that while for the most part we learn from experiences, machines learn from data. Starting from scratch, Python Machine Learning explains how this happens, how machines build their experience and compounding knowledge. Data forms the core of machine learning because within data lie truths whose depths exceed our imagination.

Good book, but disastrous in audio format.
I suspect this will be a very useful book to read, but it was a disaster for me in audible format. I was hoping the author and narrator would find a clever and effective way to vocally convey the equations and source code which constitute the core of the material. Alas, it was even worse than I had feared. Grouping of terms, numerators, denominators, superscripts, subscripts all disappear into verbal linear streams of letters and numbers. Math and code are perhaps too visual for the visually unimpaired to grasp with hearing alone. I'd love to learn about the experiences of visually impaired students. Are tech books of this type useful in audio format? Are there effective techniques for narrating equations and code? I don't think the audible edition of this book succeeded at it.
