Great Feel Good Book - Fresh Plot

I like the fresh plot. Though the romance formula is in tact, Bybee offers and interesting plot in this second of a series. Also, she does a good job laying the groundwork for follow-ons. This novel is self contained, as was Book 1. This series creates a universe and a set of woman within the universe. After listening to two, it is clear where she is going but I think the plot lines will have enough variety to keep one interested.

As a critique I would liked to have amped up the conflict. I also would have liked to see a little more depth from Eliza -- all in all, a nice listen. Pull up a chair near the fire, surf the web on you iPad and listen away. Eby does a good job narrating. I give it a thumbs up.

Easy Listen for a Rainy Day

This book will suit you just fine if you're looking for something easy that doesn't require a lot of your attention. I liked Book 1 of this series a bit better since the story and characters were better developed, whereas with this book, I found things to be good enough for what I was looking for.

My major complaints are that nothing really stood out for this book. There was good potential with the main characters, and even some of the minor characters, but it didn't get fleshed out properly to get a higher rating from me. Also, I wasn't convinced of Eliza's reasons to "go public" given the risks of doing so, which set in motion everything for this book's story and her romance with Carter.

I recommend this to fans of the author or people looking for an easy romance to pass the time.

Very Entertaining Story and Characters

Married by Monday: Weekday Brides, Book 2 is a very entertaining romance with enjoyable characters, most of whom we met in Book 1. My only disappointment is that audible does not have book 3 in their store.

Book 1 and 2 are the only Catherine Bybee books that I have ever had the pleasure of listening. Her characters are endearing, and the story is lighthearted, while also engaging. If you are in the mood for a fun read, this novel will provide.

Definitely credit worthy!

A new life

This was such an exciting story. I was so surprised by the ending. I enjoyed the new characters, Eliza and Carter, and the continuing friendship of the other characters. I am excited to read the love story between Neal and Gwen.

So good!

I liked Eliza and her story was unexpected and interesting. She's a strong heroine, mature and easy to like. Carter had a lot of the characteristics I like in a hero. The only thing I could complain about and it's just a preference for me personally, is that I think these two stayed friends for too long, for as strong of an attraction they had. I'm just the kind of reader who thinks it's odd that you could be friends and date others if you have that kind of connection.

So far the series has surprised me. I know it's based around contract marriages, but the author has not limited herself with the typical contract marriage trope. I like that. It makes each book unpredictable and has me eager to see what will bring the next couple together.
