Publisher's Summary

April Bancroft never thought she would find love, and she certainly didn't think it would be in the form of Mads Durkheim - her boss and one of the world's biggest media moguls. It's totally unlike her, but she can't resist his charm, his looks, or the heat of his body when they touch. A part of her hopes that a business trip to Los Angeles might turn their relationship into something more than strictly professional - but high in the Hollywood Hills, she's introduced to a world that she could never even dream of.

Mads Durkheim has been alive and alone for a very, very long time. One of the last of the dragons, he believes he will never find the woman meant for him - until voluptuous April walks into his office. He can't put his finger on exactly why, but she soothes the fire raging inside of him. He wants nothing more than to keep her close and safe, but mortals are never safe when they meddle in the affairs of dragons.

When April is caught in the crossfire of dirty business and ancient feuds, will their bond be enough to save her?

*4 Solid stars*

Who doesn't love a good shifter book... HOT...
April is infatuated with her boss Mads. Who wouldn't be from the way he is described he's a hot one.
April also is a pretty insecure kind of girl about her size. Mads doesn't think her size even matter she is beautiful to him inside and out.

Mads has lived a long time, he believes he will never find his mate. Until April walks into his life and things change. She brings out his protective instincts and he just knows she is the one for him.

As things progress you have to feel for these two they struggle with there own demons but love prevails or I hope it does.... ;)

Kept me engaged

I wish this story had been longer. The story itself was interesting, kept me engaged. At times in the beginning, I felt that I was missing some things. The transitions weren't there. And, I was left with a few questions, and felt there wasn't enough time for full reactions in the beginning for the main character to come to terms with the unbelievable things she was becoming aware of. But, the writing was good, and the book got very exciting towards the middle and end. The scenes were well fleshed out and full by then.

I listened to this book in audio and am looking forward to listening to more. I'm unfamiliar with "shifter" books. But, this one had a great fight scene.
I was provided this book as an ARC for an honest review.

Short but entertaining

This short but entertaining audiobook tells the story of Mads, a centuries old dragon who runs a successful business in his human form. April is his admin assistant, she is unassuming, self conscious, and she is falling for her sexy boss. She has no idea he is a dragon until he takes her on a business trip to Los Angeles and then the adventures and revaluations begin. A lot happens in a short period of time in this engaging story. The narrator fit the story well and she did a good job of bringing the characters to life. I received this audiobook at no cost in exchange for an honest review.

A Dragon Quickie

Mated by the Dragon Boss is a short, dragon shifter romance. A lot has to happen in a short amount of time, so there is the necessity for insta-love and telling, rather than showing, but that's fairy usual with such a short listen. The overall feel is good, and I get that sometimes, you don't have the time for an 18-hour novel and just want a "quickie." ;) I liked the hero and heroine and also liked the author's handling of Mads mating with human, April, and the problem with her not being a dragon. I guess my biggest problem with the story being so short is that I wanted more. That says a lot, and I will keep an eye out for more work by this author.

The narrator performs rather than just narrates. Her voices are decent, but her cadence/inflection is a little weird. When there's no dialogue and she is reading descriptive paragraphs, her sentences all end on a high note which makes those parts of the book sound kind of sing-songy. It's not terrible, and many probably wouldn't notice it, but the ups and downs sometimes made me feel a little like being at sea. I think if there were less dialogue to break it up, that would get to be distracting - for me anyway. I didn't notice it as much at the end, so it either stopped, or I got used to it. Don't get me wrong, her performance, while not perfect, was not a deal breaker for me, and I own that I am pickier than most when it comes to pronunciation, enunciation and inflection.

I received this audiobook for free in exchange for an unbiased review. The number of stars I award in the 5-star rating system is based on where I believe this audiobook rates with other audiobooks of the same type, length and general feel-- not where it rates in comparison to all audiobooks of all time.

HOT DRAGON ROMANCE!!!

What made the experience of listening to Mated by the Dragon Boss the most enjoyable?

I was given this book for my honest opinion and this book was sweet and hot. I enjoyed April and Mads story line and how they both ended up having a little something special. I won't tell the story but she is just as special as him and is able to save his life. Yes that is a very nice twist when the woman gets to he the hero. I loved this little short story and will definitely be reading more of Meg Ripley's books!!

Mmm... Dragons...

Who doesn't love a good dragon story...
This one had romance, action, danger, and a small twist. The sex was as hot as the dragon's fire and made this short listen so steamy. I especially loved the fact that April was a plus-sized woman and that a gorgeous man fell so deep in love with her.
A wonderful story overall... Makes me wish dragon shifters (shifters in general) were real... *le sigh*

Great short story

I received a free copy of "Mated by the Dragon Boss" in exchange for an unbiased review. This was a great short story. Only about two hours long when listening. It was enjoyable to listen to it on my way to and from work and have it finished after one-day's commute. A young girl, April, is an assistant to a businessman, Mads. What she doesn't know is that he is a dragon. I guess in her lifetime, that is not unheard of. I would probably pass out, but not good ole April. She accepted it and moved on. I guess in such a short story you have to cut out all the preliminary relationship and complicated stuff. There is a bit of suspense in this story, along with a little bit of thriller. The author did a great job of describing the situation and the characters so that you do actually get to know them in such a short time. I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading/listening to more by this Ms. Ripley.

When You Know

This was a short intense read. I love the shifter world in the regard that when you meet the one destined to be yours there is no argument unless you are in denial. That said, I was interested to see how, when and where love would introduce itself to Mads and April. Since this was a short read I didn't have to wait long, but there was oh so much more to this story. A world of secrets, suspense and intrigue was only a plane ride away and I was riveted to my listening device until the end where there was yet another surprise.
Meghan Kelly's performance was clean and concise. Each character was clearly defined and my attention wasn't distracted from the story, but she brought me in deeper due to her talent.

April and Mads

This was a really good story that had several bad guys. A lot happens even though the book is only two hours. I loved how April was able to save Mads after he fell from the sky in his dragon form during a fight. It is amazing what love can do. I am glad the author found a way for them to be together forever. Meghan Kelly did a great job with the narration. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I did enjoy the story and the unexpected twist

I always enjoy the instalove of a mating bond, but I felt this story started too fast almost like there was a missing chapter of build up and anticipation. But overall I did enjoy the story and the unexpected twist.
