Publisher's Summary

When my family left our small, ultra-conservative pack back in Utah to join a giant pack in Northwest Louisiana, I thought I'd be able to coast through my last year of high school in semi-anonymity, then get the f--k away from wolf pack politics and just live my life for awhile. But the Moon decided to prolong my torture by placing my fated mate in front of my face on my first day at Blackstone Academy. He's the Alpha's son and king of a school crawling with shifters, and it turns out he doesn't care to be saddled with a Moon-chosen mate who he thinks is a nobody omega wolf.

When he rejects me in front of every shifter in school, I vow to harden my heart, become impervious to the constant, deep hurt of the rejection, and figure out how to be the first wolf in known history to shake the taint of a rejected fated mate bond.

I'm also becoming closer to a new student - a smoking hot and intriguing human, who I can't manage to scare off even with the drama that surrounds me and the poisonous pack politics that I can't seem to escape. I can't even tell him what's really going on, but I think he's keeping secrets from me, too.

I'm Mave Fortune, and my mate threw me out like yesterday's garbage. But f--k that guy.

Note: This is a new adult, M/F stand-alone story with a HEA. Any future audiobooks in the series will feature other characters. Mave is intended for the 18+ crowd and contains foul language, some mild violence, and steamy scenes. If you're a fan of upper YA/NA, wolf shifters, academy romances, and all of the associated tropes, this audiobook is for you!

Every Sentence included the f-o-u-r letter word!

I am new to writing reviews but, honestly I couldn’t get past the Authors overuse of f#ck. This is a new author to me and maybe its just this book. The main character seemed to use “that” word in every single sentence. TBH I did not make it past the second chapter before I requested a refund of my credit.

I am in no way a prude and I don’t mind books with foul language but the word was so overused it became tacky.
The narration was great! Love the male/female narrators it made the story more realistic.

Highschool students acting like College frats??

I loved the concept of Mave's family not wanting to be involved in pack politics and simply wanting to live peacefully outside of all the pack mumbo jumbo. I also enjoyed the angst of the rejection and her powering on despite the pain and seeing how she goes through it.

I loved the two narrators. Maaaan I could listen to Neill Thorne's voice for days. My ears would perk every time he stepped in.

But there was quite a lot in it that I didn't like.

1: Despite everyone being in high school - they all acted as if they were college students, going to tons of parties, dressing scantily, drinking a bunch, even at pack meetings or dare I say it.. at home while underage. If they had been in college at universities where there were frat parties and such, I wouldn't have batted an eye. This seemed less likely to happen in the real world (yes I do know wolf shifters aren't real per se :P )

2: The insane amount of cursing. I curse myself and am casual about it and I don't flinch when I hear it. But this seemed as if they were purposely trying to fit in a curse word every single sentence.. more likely 2 or 3 in them! It was overkill. Hell, I was ready to go the old-time mama route and grab a bar of soap and shove it in everyone's mouth! Not my usual mindset.

3: The sex! I'm no prude.. As a matter of fact my friends call me a perv but this was too much. When they would start talking bout getting freaky I would literally yell out "Aw c'mon! You just got your freak on fifteen minutes ago!" I wanted to hear the STORY, not the erotica. I love me a good steamy scene but this just made me groan and stuff a pillow over my head.

So for those interested, you can take what I have to say with a grain of salt. If none of this bothers you, then have at it.

I absolutely LOVE this audiobook!

I really enjoyed reading the book, and the narrators have done an amazing job in bringing the characters to life. Stefanie and Neill are the perfect voices for Mave and Blake! They both read with such emotion that you are instantly transported into this awesome world of wolf shifters, fated mates and more! If you love PNR audiobooks this is a MUST listen! And as far as rejected mate books go, this is my absolute favorite!

Yes please!

The review that says that so many bad words are used, therefore they didn’t make it past the second chapter... I had to laugh. It’s really not that bad and that person really missed out on a great story. Our MC is an actual strong female character and the steam was perfect.
This was a great find and I need more! WORTH THE CREDIT!

Loved it!

First let me get this out of the way, the alpha and his son are douches. Yep, I totally said it. The reason the book got a five star was because I loved Mave and future mate so much.

Mave Fortune

I really enjoyed this book! It was absolutely nothing like I expected. Strong, self-assured heroine (without being b*tchy about it either!) and a hero that allows her to be herself. No trying to coddle her, protect her, etc. He just knows she's strong and capable and is there to support her in her decisions. There is open communication between the two and their families. All in all, a VERY refreshing take on a pretty standard trope. Narration was also excellent! Loved this and worth the credit!!

Interesting

This story definitely had an interesting overall storyline, but it got a little too redundant with the details. It felt slow at times because of this. However, it was an adorable story with a HEA. 18+
