What did you love best about Max?

Just like the rest of the series this book hit the spot. It's great reading about a non man whore once in a while. Also the heroine was not annoying which is a plus. Can't wait for the next listen.

Great sports romance

I really love this series- the characters are great (fair notice- I did not read or listen to Hawke because of the reviews and how they described Hawke. I may go back to listen but there is mention of Hawke's relationship in this book, which makes me wonder about their HEA.) Anyway, Max- I love Max. Max is sweet, adorable, loyal, honorable, and perfect. And then Jules, strong and sweet but a bit hard headed. :o) but their romance was so well done and I loved the presentation of very real problems that these two characters would suffer, especially because Jules had to become the parent to her sister's three children when her sister passed away.

This was a great book, it was great to see old characters and the book was elevated with the narration. Both Cris and Graham were the narrators from the prior books and they were as good throughout this series. I very much enjoyed their reading.

A good story with strong engaging characters

A very enjoyable book that kept me listening iintently. It was difficult to put the story down. I enjoyed that there wasn't a lot angst. Sweet story worth a credfit and the time to listen/read.

OH MY MAX

This was a very hot heart warming story. Talk about the strong connection between Max and Jules. I ached for the loss if Jules sister but felt all the love Jules gave to her niece and nephews. Max talk about one heck of a good, strong, loving, and patient man. It was plain to see he loved them all! Did I forget the part about Max and Jules how hot they are together? Oh my!!!! Have to say thanks to Sawyer for the audible version. I especially like being able to continue listening to this brilliant love story while doing other things! Thanks Sawyer such a great job!

A Rags to riches love story

Max saves Jules one night when she's working in a convenience store. Then he proceeds to turn her life and the those of her niece and two nephews' lives upside down.
Sawyer Bennett has turned this hockey series into lessons about struggles of every day people. Jules is raising children as a single parent and working multiple jobs to make ends meet..
She has her share of strife and her pride doesn't allow her to accept hand outs from millionaire hockey players, no matter how hot they are in bed.
Max recognizes all of the good in Jules and can deal with her raising three young children. Most men would be turned off. He also recognizes her truly artistic talent.
Cris Dukeheart does a great job narrating the voice of Jules. I love Graham Halstead's narration of Max. When he does Jules' voice he adds a slight southern accent that's really believable.

OMG I think Max Fournier is my new favorite from the Cold Fury! What an amazing man! Gorgeous, hot, sexy, sweet, generous, compassionate........I could just go on and on. And Jules, I can't say enough about her either. It's not often I fall in love with the heroine as well as the hero, but this woman is amazing! Such a beautiful person inside and out. She is completely selfless and it is about time someone wants to take care of her! Love these two together! Love the dynamic with her "kids" so much! What a great family they all make together. All that and of course the sex was hotter than molten lava too!!! Couldn't ask for more!!

Max and Jules

Max, a hot hockey player, just happens to stop into a random c-store for a junk food run where he is entranced by the clerk. Jules is a single mother - sort of - who has had to take on a second job as a late shift clerk to support her young niece and nephews. When Max returns to see the clerk again, he learns that she no longer works there, but through a random circumstance runs into her where he finally has a chance to talk to her again.
There's a lot going on in Jules' life but somehow Max finagles his way in and turn her barely getting by world into one full of Hope's and dreams. But Jules has a lot of hurdles to overcome - namely pride - to allow herself to truly be happy.
There's a lot of angst and prideful choices made in this story, but not made by the usual suspects. There's also some outside the box side characters that made the story that much more interesting to read.
As a continuation of the series, this audiobook stayed true with keeping the same great narrators as the other books. Cris Dukehart and Graham Halstead have become the voices of the series.

Raise you’re Queens and Love/Hold your King

Alrighty, although he’s pretty close to Hawke whose story I could finish because so truly disliked the him as a hero. Max’s story really surprises me.

His non shallow, caring personality is amazing. His ability to truly see how wonderful Jules as a whole even when she struggles to see how amazing and strong she is truly melted my heart. Not only does he see how amazing she is but he elevated her and tells her continually how amazing she is. To the point that he pushes her out of her comfort zone to sell her paintings so she can see how incredibly talented she is.

Anyways he’s super amazing and she continues to push her to the greatness she has within so she can see it. Not only does he take interest in her but I’m “her” kids and he works in building a relationship with them as well.

Great book! Highly recommend!

Story weirded me out

**Mild Spoilers**
I didn’t finish this audiobook because it just got really weird and made me anxious. We have the main character, Julianne, single guardian in charge of her deceased sister’s 3 young kids. Julianne works three jobs and her 3 character traits are that she is a hard worker, cares for the kids and is hot. No other personality. Max chases after her despite her saying many times that it is a really bad time in her life as she is barely making ends meet over the last four months. She is still grieving over her sister and dealing with incredible responsibilities.

What got me anxious was the care of the kids. Julianne is ok with giving them to anybody who can watch them. She hasn’t even met Kate and they are sleeping over at her house? Max also babysits then only after a few encounters with Julianne and the kids. At 6 weeks of knowing her, he is again watching the kids and also giving them baths? I’m not saying anything bad about male babysitters, but it seemed weird to have her not even boyfriend do that.

Another thing that go me weirded out was when the father who signed away his rights on the kids came to get them back. Max let the kids go hang with the deadbeat dad unsupervised. Max did take the wallet and car keys of the dead beat father “just to be safe he won’t kidnap them”. Then max left the dad with the kids to go and tell Julianne. Max could have just called her while he was with the kids and the dad. If she didn’t pick up, he could have brought the kids with him to the apartment to keep them safe.

Also, the poor kids have so many different babysitters I lost track. They are being tossed from one place to another with one babysitter having an alcoholic husband. The kids also don’t seem to miss their mom at all as they never mention her.

I feel that social services or the courts would have been more involved with this case due to the kids going with a guardian and not a parent.

The other thing that was weird was how much Max pushed her with the whole art thing. He’s like you can make so much money with the art, yet only he was only able to get $200 for each of them? That doesn’t seem like a lot of money where she could quit her job for.

I stopped listening at the half way point. Also the sex was just mediocre.
