I really liked this

Personally, I was impressed with the information, and the narrator wasn't bad at all. I guess it's just a matter of opinion, but I would recommend this book. The value is great for the price, the topic is interesting, and the execution is well done. Thanks!

on a trip to Coba

listened to this book in preparation of our trip to the Maya Riveria. I loved leaning the names of the God's and hearing the stories I just wish it was longer

Yes!

Finally a book on Mayan mythology! Do you know how many books there are on Greek or Roman mythology? I am glad someone finally highlighted this part of the world and decided to write about it.

Whoa...

This book is so DRY!!! You would think that a book about mythology would be action packed and full of scandal, but NOOOO...this book is just a recitation of facts and never captured my attention. Also, don’t get the audiobook version. The narrator yells at you the entire time.

Surprisingly good

I was surprised by all the things the author put together and looked up or studied for the sake of releasing this book. Good job!

The Title is Misleading - Not What I wanted

I wanted a book about Mayan mythology from someone who is actually informed about it. He is not. He is one of those people that believes all civilizations were created 26,000 years ago and were wiped out in the climate catastrophe during the Younger Dryas. (e.g. The Great Sphinx was damaged by flood damage 26,000 years ago. Noah's flood. Other nonsense.) Some of this book was written before 2012 and goes over and over how the Mayan Long Count Calendar ends in 2012 probably predicting cataclysm! In as much as it's 2021 now, I am not overly worried about that.
If that's what you're looking for, fine. I ditched the book after about 10 minutes.
Not at all what I wanted.
I will avoid title by this author.

Misleading title! Full of conspiracies

The title makes you think this is a book on Mayan mythology but half an hour in it starts veering into the colonial nonsense explaining the end of Mayan Civilization by Noah’s flood rather than Spanish invasion! This is utterly insulting to indigenous people. It’s full of conspiracy nonsense, completely unreliable source of information. Waste of time & money!!!!!!!

Don't waste time with this one

This is not a well researched book. Conspiracy theorist based, misinformed and wasted money.

Just a conspiracy theorists dream

Everything is deeply riddled with comparison to the bible. I want to learn about Maya not Christianity or the crazy theories that never came to be.
