Story
The dapper, mustache-twirling little Belgian with the egg-shaped head and curious mannerisms has solved some of the most puzzling crimes of the century - and, in his own humble opinion, is "probably the greatest detective in the world". In this complete collection of more than 50 stories, ranging from short tales to novellas, Poirot faces violent murders, poisonings, kidnappings, and thefts - all solved with his characteristic panache. Only Agatha Christie could have devised cases worthy of Hercule Poirot's skill and "little gray cells".

McLevy LOVE!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely would recommend this audiobook to a friend. Love, love, love McLevy.
What did you like best about this story?
I love the characters and characterizations. The stories progress and so do the characters. Insight into Victorian Scotland is a treat.
What does Brian Cox and Siobhan Redmond bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I love Brian Cox and Siobhan Redmond's voice charaterizations. Already familiar with Brian Cox's work in films--Glimmer Man and the Austrialian Broadcasting Co. show where he plays the kingpin of a drug selling family. His gravelly voice is just perfect for the picture I have in my head re: McLevy. Siobhan's voice is a perfect warm, playful counterpart to McLevy. The other actors portraying Muhollad and the Lt. Roach are fabulous as well. The story lines are progressive and interesting. I'm riveted and now I've gotten my hubby hooked too.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I'm delighted that McLevy and Jean Brash finally got "together." I was afraid that it would never happen. They're in love despite their circumstances in life and now I'm afraid for them. Possibly, Muholland suspects their secret. What's going to happen when it finally comes to light? Absolutely, everyone close to them sees how they are about each other, but their situation seems impossible. She has intimated that she'd be willing to move elsewhere, but he's a cop and that's all he knows. His patch.
Any additional comments?
Keep the stories coming as fast as you can. I'm anxiously awaiting the next thrilling installment. Also, the full-cast productions are marvelous. Much more interesting than single narrators.

Superior writing, acting and production
I cannot praise this series 'McLevy' highly enough. Brilliant writing by David Ashton, masterfull performance by Brian Cox, (I'm totally in love with him), engaging performance by Siobhan Redmond and Michael Percival-Maxwell provides the convincing muscle.
There aren't enough episodes for me. If only David Ashton had employed a professional narrator to read his books on audible instead of narrating them badly himself ( Brian Cox would be favourite), I could have continued my enjoyment.

Great detective series
No doubt if this was on telly it would be lauded as a great series. Ranking with Morse, Sherlock etc.
I'm always surprised that a TV producer hasn't snapped it up.
Good stories, good acting and first class production over many years make this a favourite of mine for 20 years so it's nice to revisit it again.
I would also recommend David Ashton's books.

Top Drama
More of David Ashton’s classic Victorian detective drama. As is consistent across all series of this modern times radio classic, the writing, casting, performance and production are all to an excellent standard.
Many listeners may already be familiar with the McLevy series, but for anyone who isn’t who likes the sound of it from the description I would totally recommend checking it out.
McLevy originally ran on BBC Radio Four from around 2000 to it’s finale in October 2016, spanning a total of 12 series. In this great value double edition we have the full series 9 and 10 which originally aired around 2012–2013. It is not necessary to start from the first series in order to understand the plot as the key points are worked pretty well into each individual series, although given that these days the entire work is commercially available, some may like to explore this great radio gem from the beginning. However, if you’re a newcomer curious to sample the series from any Point and you’re not bothered about strict chronology, then this collection of later era episodes is certainly as good as any for such.
Check it out!

EXCELLENT McLEVY ENTERTAINTMENT
I own the full 6 series all at least 6 & half hours each of excellent entertainment. Each and every one these series follow on from the last program and all are fun atmospheric and draw you into the story so you feel you are right there back in Victorian Edinburgh with McLevy as he and Mulholland bring the criminals to justice.
Taken from the recorded crimes from the real life Inspector James McLevy. 6 series are not enough. PLEASE can we have more, much much more of the fun lovable coffee soaking McLevy.
