For fans of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and Life After Life, a poignant genre-bending debut novel about a man and woman who must discover why they continue to meet in different versions of their lives—a thrilling and imaginative exploration of the infinite forms of love and how our choices can change everything.

Thora and Santi have met before.

Two strangers in a foreign city, Thora and Santi meet in a chance encounter. At once, they recognize in each other a kindred spirit - someone who is longing for more in life than the cards they’ve been dealt. Before their friendship can blossom, though, a tragic accident cuts their story short.

They will meet again.

But this is only one of the many connections they share. Like satellites trapped in orbit around each other, Thora and Santi will find each other again: as husband and wife; teacher and student; caretaker and patient; cynic and believer. In recurring lifetimes they become friends, partners, lovers, and enemies.

Only they can make sure it’s not for the last time.

As strange patterns and blurred memories compound, Thora and Santi come to a shocking revelation. They must work together to discover the true reason behind their repeating realities...before their many lives come to one, final end.

Half way through, it’s an arduous read.

With about five hours left, I was ready for the book to be over. Great performance but I just didn’t find the characters that interesting. I couldn’t stand the hateful and bickering personality of one of the main characters. For me, this wasn’t time well spent.

Wasn’t expecting the ending

Well, I wasn’t expecting that ending. I had finally got interested in the book after such a slow start. Didn’t give up mainly because it was a buddy read. After half way through the book I was hooked. I have to say I ended up liking the book.

Mixed reaction

The narrator does a wonderful job with the variety of characters. The first 2/3 of the story drones on leaving the reader wondering what the point is, however the last 1/3 resolves in a very surprising twist that you won’t see coming.

Unexpectedly Beautiful

This is a re-listen, for sure. Such a beautiful and hearth wrenching story about how we often can be our worst selves to the people we love; even when we think we have things figured out, we might be working with the wrong information, or only parts of it. The twists and turns are dramatic and unexpected, and while this is a slow build to a break neck finish, you’ll be immersed in the story of Santi and Thora before they, or you, realize what’s really happening.

Meh

This had so much potential. It felt to me like the author lost her way in the story, and it went from interesting to ridiculously bizarre. I do not recommend.

Captivating

This book surprised me on every turn, every chapter holding something new and unexpected. The ending couldn’t have been further from where I thought it would end up, but I really loved it. I felt like I was on a brand new journey of life with Santi and Thora. Absolutely stunning read; I am so glad I chose to listen to the Audible version!

Magic

Brilliant, imaginative storytelling at its finest. How can you miss a life that isn't yours? And Kristin Atherton should just read all the books.

The end was the best

A little arduous through the middle and almost put this down, but the end was a great twist! We’ll written and overall worth the read.

Messy story with a tidy ending that made it great

I wasn’t sure I would finish this book because it just seemed too bizarre. But I’m so glad I stayed until the end.
