Some good, more not so good

I bought this because of all the great reviews, however I didn’t find this book to be as great as others had reviewed.

This is the first book on memory I have listened to, however the substance of the story felt bloated and (to me) only had very few useful strategies.

The story felt like it was being read from a text book and little care was taken to filtering out parts that shouldn’t be read out loud (eg ‘see graph below’)

Punctuation was off in a lot of places, rolling several sentences into one long talk - which at time made it difficult to understand.

Overall, while I did learn a couple new things, I found myself not really enjoying this story - unfortunately!

great one

I was expecting it to be a mostly theoretical, boring book, but I was proven wrong. It was getting more interesting with every chapter listened. There are so many actual stories, that makes a great book. One of the books, that can help you improve a lot on an personal level, and rethink your understanding of the things you haven't explored.

This book is nice. It was like reading a research article, though through listening to the nice narration. Listening to the book felt relaxing and I enjoyed it a lot.

Badly written, badly read, or both

I thought this sounded interesting, and considering it had a ton of 5-star reviews it must be worth the price, so took the plunge. There may well be some good ideas contained within it - but I'm afraid I found it completely impossible to listen to due to it either being very badly written or very badly read - I couldn't decide which. Quite often, the sentences simply didn't make sense - sounding as though words were missing or in the wrong order, or maybe badly translated from another language. Some examples I've just found by browsing for 5 minutes: "Myth 3: there is to memorize easy way", "you simply will not forget as much as most people, or how often you forget", "the direct connection between diet and brain health cannot be seen, because what we do in the mouth is not", In the end, this just became too frustrating for me, and as I felt I was still listening to the introduction (the book was still telling me all the things I'd be getting from reading it) I decided to skip to the next chapter - and then discovered to my surprise I was already on chapter 9, so pretty much halfway through.
Honestly, I wanted to like this (and had three separate attempts to get though it), but in the end it's been a complete waste of money. I'm now very suspicious of all those 5 star reviews - either those aren't real people or they didn't listen to it. I'd give it zero stars if I could!

boring

long and unnecessary boring.
a very intelligent man, but he can't present well at all.
I had to turn this off several times to rest my ears. and fast forward to other chapters I thought would be good.
shame....but it is sooooo boring.
