Publisher's Summary

Nothing matches Lora Leigh’s latest entry in the series about genetically altered Breeds with feline DNA—and the humans who awaken their desire.

Someone has been slipping the Sanctuary’s secure information to a pharmaceutical company. Now it’s up to Ria Rodriguez to pose as a clerk and uncover the leak. Yet she has no idea of the danger she’s about to encounter—or the passion she’s about to ignite in one of the greatest Breeds ever created.

What Happened??

Love this series. Loved Megan's Mark: story and performance.
But I could barely finish Mercury's War. Story was great, but the narrator (the same one for Megan's Mark) sounded like she was a novice at times. Dialogue is well played, with feeling. The rest had a strange rhythm and pitch changes throughout. And some of these male breeds sound too much alike. What happened?? I heard none of these problems while listening to Megan's Mark. I'll try the next book because I like the series and the narrator CAN do a good job. Just not sure what happened here.

Spies are found, extremely interesting romance

No spoilers, very intriguing family relations revealed, more history on Leo & Elizabeth, someone unexpected from Mercury’s past makes an unhappy appearance. This one is full of adventures and hot sex. Guess she can’t write real erotic anymore with her new publisher Penguin, what a shame. As always, terrific narration by Brianna Bronte.

This is one of my favorites!

I love Rhia and her demure self but when she quits hiding her inner self, it's game over. She's ready to kick butt and take names like the rest of them. Mercury is one of my favorite characters, hes so complex. The council did him so wrong, but he is such a valiant and honest breed. These two are a perfect team.

Mercury’s War

This book was hard to listen to because of Bronte’s voice she really read this one funny. For some reason her voice was irritating to me I don’t know why I didn’t notice it in other book......Now to the story this was a really good book there love was heart wrenching ( I cried). I recommend this one to anyone especially anyone who loves Breed books

Mercury On Fire!!

I'm currently re-listening to all the breed audiobooks I purchased (and I believe I have ALL the ones that were released through Audible). This is my second time listening to this story, and I realized this installment had everything I want in the Lora Leigh Breed Series books. If Merc was a real being, even I would be attracted to him! Of all the mated couples in the series this is the best match. Ria is perfectly matched to Merc. I also like the relationship Dane & Ria have (his protective affection for her). I also really liked the way Brianna Bronte voiced Merc, Ria, Dane & Jonas in particular. (On a side note, I really need Dane to have his own book; he's nuts & similar to Jonas on another level).

So many secrets

Where does Mercury's War rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's a nice read, but not one of my all-time favorites.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Not sure. I can probably relate to Ria a lot.

Which character – as performed by Brianna Bronte – was your favorite?

Again, I'm not sure. I usually like Dane a lot, but his South African accent came and went more than I liked.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, it's too long to listen to all at once.

Any additional comments?

It's been a little bit since I listened to this one, but I think I recall that some of the character voices just didn't ring true for me. But that could just be personal preference.

Great Breeds book

I have enjoyed this whole series, and this is my favorite so far. A lot of strife and drama along with the usual breed heat.

Two outsiders find love in each other.

Would you try another book from Lora Leigh and/or Brianna Bronte?

Yes, I would.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Ria was an outstanding female character. I loved that she was independent yet she knew when to give in. It was a pleasure to read about her and her insecurities.Merc knew what he wanted and he went after it. Two outsiders finding solace in each in other. I liked it!I really disliked the fact that his friends didn't have his back when Ely implied that he was going feral. I actually felt heated over it, but I needn't have worried. Ria came out swinging in a room full of powerful men. One qualm I had was with Ely. The author let that go on a bit too long and made the characters in the book look foolish for not figuring out that Ely never acted that extreme. A fail all around

Which character – as performed by Brianna Bronte – was your favorite?

I loved that Ria was fighting with herself, but still able to defend Merc.

Brilliant

This Breeds story focuses on Ria Rodriguez and Mercury. It’s quite a story too full of surprises I never saw coming, deceit, betrayal and an all consuming scorching hot sexual relationship between Ria and Mercury. Can the two overcome almost insurmountable obstacles to have the mating they deserve or will devilish outside forces get there way and destroy both Ria, Mercury and sanctuary? I highly recommend this story and the series as a whole it’s one of the best I’ve ever read and listened to.
