D&D meets Hogwarts meets... Rebel Wilson?
The writing of this book is solid and overall I found the story engrossing and enjoyable. Comparing this book to a number of Lit RPG I've listened to, it holds up well. While not as number crunchy as many, there is overall level progression and as well as with different areas of magic. Then there is the added "muggle finds herself in a wizarding world" feel to it. The magic system itself is D&D based so might be slightly confusing at first if you're not already familiar with that.
Are there other issues with this book? Yes. The MC can be a bit annoying at times and the emotional issues a little heavy, but I didn't feel that detracted much from the story. In the end, this is about a 30 year old woman finding herself in her 15 year old body from parallel universe where magic is used instead of science. I thought it was an interesting twist and handled well.
My only real gripe is the narrator. To be fair she did a great job in the main but there were some stumbles and mispronunciations that could have been fixed. The real issue was the accent of the MC. Not sure if that is just a Sydney thing, but man, I kept thinking I was listening to Rebel Wilson. I like Rebel - she's a great actress and funny, but as the voice of the MC of a fantasy... well, perhaps it is just the accent of the area and I shouldn't complain, but it pulled me out of the story a little. Not a deal breaker though.
In summary, this is a first book for this author and in my opinion outperforms most in something of an overcrowded subgenre. Not quite at the level of "The Land" or "He Who Fights Monsters" but close. Well worth the credit and the listen.

Not very good, i'm afraid.
I'm sorry, but this story just is not very good even by amateur standards. The characters are not very well developed, the plot seems to be on some kind of skip track, the catalyst for the story is irrelevant and only serves to confuse the narrative, and the magic system does not appear to have been thought out beyond what the author wanted to do in each chapter. Frankly speaking the whole thing is a jumbled mess of potential ideas that are poorly executed.
1. Character development and plot progression. I place these together because the problem for both is the same, the author skips the middle part of each arch and just goes from set up to resolution with nothing given to the middle but a throw away line to inform the reader that time has passed. The end result being that you don't care or really know anything about characters that are important to the main character and achieves do not feel earned.
2. The catalyst for this story serves no real purpose. SPOILER The MC of the book is taken from her own time and world and placed in an alternate world version of her teenage self. Why? I am really asking, because i have no idea. She has no regrets about her family, her former friends in her original world drifted apart naturally, and she was a happily successful woman. I can see no other purpose for the author to have gone with this theme other than they wanted a reason for why everything needed to be explained to the MC. Instead of just having the MC explain everything to the audience in internal dialogue. Which i could understand, sort of, if the author wanted a more natural sounding narrative, unfortunately no one in this book really talks like a normal human being and the alternate history mixes poorly with current history, leaving the whole thing a confused and unnecessary mess.
3. Character voice and POV, The POV (point of view) changes between characters quite often, only there is no reason for it, The audience will get a couple lines from the perspective of a different character seemingly at random, with only the barest hints that you are no longer in the head of the MC. It's confusing. (a constant theme of this book) As for the "voice" of the characters, well they don't really make sense to be honest. For instance, the MC goes to a party where she is leered at and harassed, which of course is seen as a bad thing...okay, yet when another character shows up and does the exact same thing it is seen as him being cool? Does not make any sense at all.
4. sexism. Even if in story you have the MC smack down every dude who gropes or harasses her, the fact that you are constantly talking about how hot and sexy your female characters are is still a problem. The fact that they are minors is even worse. Noting that your characters are attractive is one thing, constantly harping on it is kinda weird.
5. Magic and technology are inconsistent. Pretty self explanatory , magic works how ever the chapter wants it to work, and tech will appear and disappear based on whether or not the author remembered if it existed or not.
Final thoughts. It is not worth the crdit.

Something D&D lovers will like.
Narration was great! Climax and story were everything I wanted in modern fantasy. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes d&d or modern fantasy, because it takes a well loved system of magic and has a unique take, along with a witty twist to how everything works.
Seriously, a great book. The inherent drawbacks to various types of magic , for example, is a beautiful stroke. Other than that, I wouldn't want to say more, for fear of spoiling stuff ;)

Surprisingly Good
The story is largely following an isekai'ed woman that goes to an alternate world 15 years in the past.
It could do without the family issues, but they dont break the story or anything.
there are also kinda large time skips that could have easily been used to fill in some of the rushed conversation. But it is difficult to write a story that is told in years timescale, so I get why the events were lumped together.

Great story but!
This was a great story it’s like a web novel. The only bad thing about it is the Mc has insane choice options.
Power is here and there never knowing what her actual might is. This might kill a mouse but the next time it can’t even scratch a mouse.
Worth a credit just keep in mind it’s like a web novel.

Interesting but dissapointing
I will probably continue the story because of the scarcity of books with this setting and genre but the story itself was a bit disappointing.
I do not understand the reason for the main character being isekai'd into the world, if it didn't happen and we came across the main character already being 15 I do not think it would have changed the story at all. It would have actually made more sense in some situations with how the main character responds in certain scenes. For someone with the mentality of a supposed adult, they constantly acted like a child. Characters would comment on her matureness but it never really comes across to the reader.
There is an uncomfortable amount of sexualisation of minors, which did nothing for the story and felt like it was only there for the reader's imagination.
The background lore of the world is pretty cool. I like the explanations for alternate historic events and the makeup of Australia and the rest of the world's politics and class systems.
The story skips multiple months and lingers on transparent plot points and ends up feeling all over the place. The idea for the story is very interesting but unfortunately falls flat on the execution.
