Love the historical references
I really enjoyed this historical fiction story and the biblical references, It makes you want to go back to the source, the Bible, and follow along the timeline. David is such a complex man of God. I enjoyed learning and being inspired to research Michal on my own. I enjoy this author's style of writing. I will definitely read the others!
This is the first narration I have heard by Ms. Beaulieu. I found myself distracted by the halting cadence Ms. Beaulieu fell in to while performing. I even tried to read along with the narration, but it didn't help. Overall, this didn't make me stop listening, but it lessened my overall enjoyment.

Narrator was awful
I hate to put a Narrator down, but this one kept me from getting very far. She has stops and starts that make the characters sound mechanical; having no personalities. I keep wanting to just go on with the story, but it is very hard to get into it because there are no properly nuances.
I’m really bummed, and hope that this review prompts a change in narrator because I would like to hear the book in a way that makes it interesting; in a way I think it could be.

Thumbs Up
Loved the story line. It made transported me to an era that is not easily understood unless you are a bible student. I also listened to the reading and it was well done. However I would have loved to listen to different voices taking on each character's speech. The reader has a sweet melodic and very female voice. While her delivery was well done, I had trouble believing that David was speaking or any of the male characters for that matter. However, her intonation, her verbal needs at the different scenarios gave life to the story. I was pleasantly surprised. Thank you.
