MUST READ!!

At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like this fantasy romance type book. It took me a couple chapters to warm up to it, but all I can say now is... Give me more! Naomi is a young girl who many can identify with, living in an abused neglected situation with her parents. She finds love fantastically unexpected. If you like romance, and you like a good book with amazing character, do yourself a favor and buy this book!! I can't wait to listen to more by this author!! I also have to give props to the narrator for keeping me in the moment and full of emotion just by the different voices and the way she makes it so easy to distinguish from one character to the next!

The tension at the beginning, with Naomi's family and the mysterious events happening around her really draw you in. It's a unique and well told story.

Loth did an excellent job keeping me interested

Nine times out of ten I would have rated this book a 2-star or lower. This is almost never my type of book. The teen angst, sudden magic ability, love triangle, surprise villain... all these thing usually add up to a big disappointment for me. But Loth did an excellent job keeping me interested despite all the reasons I could have had to hate it.

I think at least part of my enrapture with the book came from listening to Emma Lysy narrate the story. It never felt like someone was reading me a story; it felt like I was watching a movie. She did an excellent job portraying each character and their emotions.

Clean magical romance

I titled it that way because that’s exactly what the story is. After reading it it should have been labeled a YA bookIn that The storyline is definitely for younger readers. I listen to the audible selection of this book and it was excellent. the Audible book and the narration was excellent. Even stating all of that it was still a good book.

Who says a kiss is just a kiss?

What did you love best about Kissed?

The dynamics of the two parties trying to keep eachother in check despite one or the other going rogue.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The brothers earn a tie spot. They really made for good sibling and love triangle dynamics.

Which character – as performed by Emma Lysy – was your favorite?

Dwayne...I hated this guy with a passion! I wanted to punch him in his hillbilly face. He was voiced perfectly...drawling and dumb as rocks. It was awesome!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Definitely too heavvy for one sitting, but there were days I put off a few tasks to keep listening.

Fabulous Story

I found this book series after someone suggested if I liked Karen Lynch’s books I would like this author. They were right! Loved this story and I’m going to go buy the second book in the series as soon as I finish this review. If you like reading YA supernatural/fantasy fiction with strong female heroines and great love triangles, don’t miss this! It’s well balanced and well written. The narration was top notch to boot!

Interesting World

The world the author created for this story is interesting. I am not an insta-love fan so the romance part of this book fell flat for me. I didn't connect with the main character until late in the book. The narrator did a wonderful job bringing the story to life. I have read better books by this author so I have hope that the series will get better.

LOVED it!!

OMG, I freaking LOVED it!! Go pick up this book today!! The story telling can be relatable for many. While the story is a bit dark, but I absolutely loved it. The author told this story beautiful and I was caught by surprise by what was discovered at the end. I love Naomi. She is such a strong teenager that has to overcome so much darkness but tending to her flowers help her cope. The audiobook is fabulous!! The narrator uses a variety of voices and inflections and it’s very easy to follow along and distinguish the voices. I highly recommend both audiobook and ebook!

A Pleasant World to Get Into

This moves at a slower pace than what I'm used to. There are several twists and decisions made by characters that add to the pull of the story. I had some suspicions only to see that I was supposed to have them. The reveals where just moments away. I am sufficiently drawn in to want to know how things will continue to develop later in the series.

Emotional and engaging.

It starts off a little slow, but then becomes well paced. Without spoiling anything, the storyline is really good and very heartwrenching. Naomi is a well written main character as are kai and the others, there were parts of the story that made me horrified. It is very descriptive to the point you can almost imagine yourself as Naomi, I felt her pain and suffering as if it was my own. I really loved book one and can't wait to read the next book, there's so much mystery to many of the characters that I need to know.
