Publisher's Summary

What would you do to save a loved one's life? Make a pact with the devil?

In Diana Kingston's defense, it was the middle of the night in the deserted hospital chapel. Surely it was just a dream. She hadn't really sold herself to a brooding stranger to save her father's life, right?

Then she wakes, and her father is fully recovered, and a mysterious letter arrives from the tall, dark, handsome - um, devil? Yep, it was right there on the contract, Lucien Star, aka Lucifer Morningstar, that had been his name in the dream.... Gulp. What would the devil himself want with her?

Sex. Three months of hot, sweaty, Friday-night sex. Ooookay. Breaking a pact with the devil doesn't seem like a smart move. So she'll do it - but she won't like it. Not much anyway.

But she starts liking it - a lot - and every night they spend together, she likes it and Lucien a little more. Being with him allows her naughty side to come out and play, but Diana starts to see more than just a sexy-as-sin, rock-hard...er...

Anyway, he might be Satan, but even he was an angel once. Kind. Noble. And she sees glimpses of that man still inside him... But how in heaven's name do you save the devil from himself?

Contains mature themes.

WICKEDLY WONDERFUL & FULL OF LIGHTHEARTED FEELS

Bravo and well done Emma.. for such a wonderful debut novel - you’ve absolutely surpassed my expectations and delivered a captivating story that lured me in from its synopsis and audio sample.. and let me tell you I was seriously impressed. Your handsome charismatic Devil was deliciously bad and intriguing as he tempted.. and teased.. and bargained with Diana whose pure soul was enticing him out of his funk. You created good girl Diana to be a shining light in his dark world.. and she was that.. and so so much more and, as I listened and visualized various scenarios to give them a happily ever after, my mental musings paled in comparison to the beautiful perfect scenes you wrote. You only briefly flirted with descriptions of Heaven and Hell - and you had just the right balance of sex as Diana’s three month contract of Friday nights belonging to Lucien (aka Lucifer) commenced. You created a loveable alpha possessive Devil who slowly.. well shhh you know what.. and, rather than dark, this sweet and very entertaining love story, with all its whimsical fantasies and humor, was actually really light. So, once again Emma, bravo.. you gave me quite a different and compelling story about love conquering all.. and it was a shining beacon to watch out for your next book.

Worth a credit? Diana and Lucien’s journey was dual POVs, it was mysterious, romantic, sexy, sweet, refreshingly different and wonderfully romantic with a splash of heartache.. and Jeremy York’s narration brought the characters, the scenes and the story to life.. definitely making it a creditworthy audiobook.

Love Conquers

Fantastic story by Emma Castle. I was hooked from the beginning and tried to figure out how this would end . She did a great job giving everyone their HEA. I cannot wait to read more from Emma Castle.

I've read better fanfiction

I'm not prone to write reviews but this, this story was simply awful. I've never read such a trite, juvenile, vanilla depiction of The Prince of Darkness. After the fifth chapter I had to start viewing this as a straight up comedy. The plot was laughable, the pacing weird and the so called sex sences sounded like something pulled from a cheesy romance novel. The narration wasn't bad, the poor guy just didn't have alot to work with. Bottom line, save your money.

W T F

It was okay (if pretty darn cheesy) up until the ending. The ending was confusing, slapdash, and had self righteous undertones. The ending was yucky, I have no other word for it.

Dianna, you're killing me

Great story and great male protagonist. Let's talk about Dianna. I couldn't find anything appealing about her. I tried hard to figure out what the Devil's obsession was with her, I mean he vocalized it all the time, her purity, her innocents, her depth of secrets, etc., but as soon as her naggy one liners and cocky answers came out of her mouth, it should've been the Devils boner killer.

SLOW

I made it chapter 8 before, I just couldn't take it. 8 chapters and nothing happened plus the narrator was monotone

Sinfully wonderful

I enjoy the duality in this book, as well as the Paradise Lost references. I live how the characters develop throughout the story.

Dullsville

DNF@ Chapter 10. I wanted to read this book because I had heard that it's just like the show, Lucifer... Spoiler Alert, it is not. At all. Don't get tricked into reading this for the same reason!
Even forgetting that, the book is boring, and so are the characters. The narrator reads through this book in an uninterested tone the whole time too, making everything worse.

Pretty entertaining

I always enjoy a good spin off story. The ending is some what predictable but the journey was a good one with a few twists.. It's very much like the Lucifer show. Which makes me wonder which one came out first.. if they are related...

Blahh

It was ok, but considering it’s about the devil is was so disappointingly tepid and ‘nice’. He’s the devil! Shouldn’t there be something dark about him?! The relationship doesn’t feel very real either and you don’t get drawn in. I would have given it two stars usually but the writing is decent, it’s the story and characters that could have been so much more.

This book is recommended in lists along with some seriously dark and messed up books but they are so far from being in the same genre. This is more of a light romance.
