Instead, Barrett shows, we construct each instance of emotion through a unique interplay of brain, body, and culture.

Publisher's Summary
The idea that “thoughts become things” has become a meme in popular culture. It’s held as a firm proposition in metaphysics, and some spiritual teachers ascribe infinite powers to the mind. But are these claims scientifically accurate? What does the scientific evidence tell us about the scope of the human mind to transform thoughts into reality?
New research and new discoveries in epigenetics, neuroscience, electromagnetism, psychology, cymatics (the study of wave phenomena), public health, and quantum physics are demonstrating that thoughts can indeed be profoundly creative. In Mind to Matter, award-winning author Dawson Church examines the scientific facts and reviews the studies that show, step by step, exactly how our minds create material form. As each piece of the puzzle falls into place, the science turns out to be even more astonishing than the metaphysics.
Throughout the book, Church shares illuminating case histories - up-close, authentic personal accounts of people who had experiences of turning mind into matter. Drawn from the worlds of medicine, sports, business, healing, art, and scientific discovery, these stories run the gamut from profound to inspiring to heart-wrenching. Meticulously researched evidence is presented in highly relatable form, using engaging, understandable, nontechnical analogies.
As we discover how the universe operates synchronistically, we come to understand that while we have individual local minds, we also participate in universal nonlocal mind. Mind to Matter shows us that as we take charge of our individual power to create, we have the potential, as a species, to catalyze a transformation of our whole world.

Outstanding info... delivery less so.
Dawson Church is very smart and stays right on top of current mind-body research. This book reflects that and presents the information in an easy-to-understand way. I really love the information!
However, his choice to read the book himself was not a good one. I find his delivery distracting, which makes it harder to absorb the material. This may be only my bias, but listen to the sample and see what you think.
I ended up getting the Kindle version since the information is outstanding. And, of course, I can annotate, highlight and return to particularly relevant sections in Kindle.
All-in-all, if you are interested in the latest mind-body research, I highly recommend the book. You'll have to decide for yourself if the Audible version is a good fit for you.

Dear author, please understand that "reading" an audiobook was not your "tawsk." There is a reason for the voiceover and voice acting industry. In a word, the reason is you. Please don't take this criticism personally. Take it professionally. If you wish to be taken seriously as an author, you must do as serious authors do. I am returning this book because I only care to purchase professionally narrated and produced audiobooks.

Kept coming back for more!
This book was incredible. As I dive more into spiritual growth and the background of what really makes this world tick, as far as vibrational energies are concerned, this book was a hammer on the nail for me. Reading different books that share similar findings, Mind to Matter was the best read I've had for the year of 2018 thus far and is so far ahead in my mind compared to any reads this year that this title will hold its place in my mind for a while! More about the book: Science backs spirituality....and of course the long debated topic of turnings dreams into reality or in better terms: what is thought of internally manifests externally. If that doesn't intrigue you then maybe hold off reading this one until you are ready.
The only "complaint" I have is when it was ending... I was pretty bummed. So, my wife and I have already restarted it! Can't recommend this enough!

Loved this book!!!
I am so grateful to have learned about Mind to Matter and Dawson Church via Christy Whitman. What a treasure this book is indeed. I am a fan of the teachings of Abraham Hicks and was happy to hear that Mr. Church learned of the concept for this book because his wife is a fan as well.
Today I was feeling low due to many things, one of which was the Supreme Court ruling on the travel ban. With a heavy heart I’ve gone thru the day listening to and finishing this book. It brought me hope and reinforced my beliefs that sending love to all is the best way to live. Because I practice and pay attention to the law of attraction, I remain hopeful. Because of listening to the book and remaining hopeful, I have had two extraordinary encounters today!! I met a like minded person at the recycling and just now a couple at the grocery store. We spoke from our hearts and in depth about things that matter to us and will continue to be in touch and probably build a lasting friendship!! I live in Montana. It is an amazing place and I am blessed by being able to keep an open mind and getting to meet others that live here that do as well. Thanks for the book Mr. Church and I will join you in spreading love to pave the way for a better now and evermore. Signed with much love and a hopeful heart! Sarah Hoffman

No science here
Very disappointing. No idea why so many people have rated this highly. It starts of badly and goes down hill rapidly before bottoming out at the end with this gem:
“The way to put this in to practice is simple; when you wake up every morning, simply align your consciousness with the highest frequency possible... as you do this you will feel a shift in your body. You will feel a physical sense of shifting to a new plane, of moving into an altered state” riigghht.
I was hoping for a discussion on how conscious observation appears to affect results in Quantum Physics, and building on that or similar scientific premise. What I got was plenty of studies that the author admits (and made bizarre unfounded excuses for why) they haven’t been able to be replicated. There is too much nonsense in this book to comment on it all, suffice to say there is extremely little actual science produced, and an awful lot of “if you align with the right vibrational frequency blah blah blah”.
80% of this book is a discussion on the benefits of meditation, yes, thank you, if I wanted a book on the benefits of meditation I would have bought one. The other 20% is about the author trying to convince himself he has magic powers. It also didn’t help that the narrator sounded like an American Ed Miliband.

This is such an incredible, fascinating and amazing book!
I was captivated and found myself questioning the way I look at the world and everything in it.
Dawson Church takes you through a scientific journey including amazing case studies and stories of the power of mindset WITH scientific evidence to support the claims.
I love the extra material available on the website to support the book and I have even tried the ECO meditation that he recommends.

Nonsense padded with waffly, baseless anecdotes
Whats wrong with people? why is this book so highly rated?
It's a load of baseless personal beliefs, backed up by personal anecdotes of circumstances that have been extrapolated to find some connection to those baseless beliefs and then an attempt is made to legitimise the baseless belief through amateurish interpretation of science and/or ambiguous social experiment. Yet another author erroneously using the marshmallow test study to justify a perspective by completely ignoring the well documented failings of that test and its findings. When trying to apply his ideas to the world of finance he repeats his attempts to legitimise his ideas through amateurish references to scientific material, for example citing the historian wannabe economist Nail Ferguson's the "ascent of money" as some sort of bible on finance, which it is clearly not. this is repeated over and over again for each vertical, quantum physics, social science etc, etc. When you get to the end of all the mumbo jumbo, it just turns out that the book is a weak attempt to scientifically legitimise the fringe, looney ideas behind ETF tapping through padding lots of weak waffle to try pass it off as legitimate science.

Awesome
A really empowering and uplifting book. And I love that it is narrated by the author himself.

Great content, awful narration
Love this book content, but did not enjoy Dawson's narration. There's a reason that there are professional readers, it's a real skill! Will purchase this as a book to read. Such a shame...

talks through his nose
listening to this book was like listeneing to an elephant with a cold.
Sorry Dawson, but you should not be narrating your own books. I love and agree and have followed through with tapping but you cannot narrate. Get a professional to do the narration. IT DROVE ME NUTS!! the constant stop/start at all the wrong places in a sentence was dristracting as all hell! there were times when i thought "ah he's go it -a normal sentence into a paragragh" but then straight back into stammered sentence. Through the annoyance i did glean some good information.

Just what I needed
Thank you for the most rewarding read I’ve had in years. So much knowledge I needed to be reminded of and can now fully integrate assuredly due to the research provided in this book to back up all I’ve held true to my heart. I’ve just finished reading it and about to restart straight away as there’s so much juicy goodness that inspires me. Thank you

I enjoyed this book
The book was really interesting. I really enjoyed listening to it. I like the weekly actions and I'm keen to get a print copy, so I can try implementing his ideas.
