Wonderful

It's a long audio book, but it is definitely worth it! Great background information as well as useful and practical tips on being more mindful, reducing stress, and being present.

More than just the Science of Mindfulness

Siegel ties in a ton of research that involves the mind to give you a broader perspective of the power of both the mind and mindfulness. I was able both see and apply each topic in multiple areas of my life and relationships.I love his narration (I did listen to it a 1.25x) and his succinct delivery of the material. Which I believe is a testament to his mastery of mindfulness itself.

It was hard to listen to in the beginning but I finally understood the authors intent. If you have anxiety this is the book for you.

Meditation for Skeptics

No Silver Bullet, No Blanket Promises, No Magic, No promise of happiness (Surprising). No promise of heaven. For the Cynic, for those with self-loathing, for those who do not see an end to the pain and suffering. This is for those who had an impression of meditation for "Charismatics" "Saints" "Exceptional People" Wise People.The lecture talks about actionable techniques, tiny achievable wins, and the framework to pursue the practice every day and at one's own pace.I had a huge headache listening to this because it talked about attention while I was driving, walking and doing chores. I thought I was supposed to hold this frame of mind constantly, but its more like Exercise and Diet - that I achieve being healthy by having a period to Practice every day.

Seeing humanity as a super oganism is nice until we remember autophagy. Culling is a dark remnant of history. Let us not forget we are born by charity and live by charity.

A read for everyone!

Great read, perfect for listening to wherever. The only Negative I have is that the speaker sometimes makes mistakes that arent edited out and a good amount of these appear and stuttering. Its not necessarily bad but it feels more like a teacher speaking in a classroom than the professional books and speakers I am use to on here

Terrible narrator, no guided meditations

Monotonous narrator.
This is the background to mindfulness rather than guided meditations. Didn't enjoy at all.
