Story
A blinding snowstorm - and a homicidal maniac - traps a small party of friends in an isolated estate. Out of this deceptively simple setup, Agatha Christie fashioned one of her most ingenious puzzlers, which in turn would provide the basis for The Mousetrap, the longest-running play in history. From this classic title novella to the deliciously clever gems on its tail (solved to perfection by Hercule Poirot and Miss Jane Marple), this rare collection of murder most foul showcases Christie at her inventive best.

Is it a gesture of goodwill or a sinister trap that lures Rupert St. Vincent and his family to a magnificent estate? What unexpected circumstance stirs old loyalties in Theodora Darrell, an unfaithful wife about to run away with her lover?
In this collection of short stories, the answers are as unexpected as they are satisfying. The Queen of Mystery takes bizarre romantic entanglements, supernatural visitations, and classic murder to inventive new heights.

Eventually, her interest was aroused by an old soldier's yarn about strange coincidence. Infuriatingly, just as he was about to show her an astonishing photograph, the Major's attention wandered. Wonderful Radio adaptation of a Miss Marple story

Publisher's Summary
June Whitfield returns as the deceptively mild spinster sleuth in three full-cast BBC Radio 4 dramatisations.
Specially broadcast to mark the 125th anniversary of Agatha Christie's birth, these brand new dramas are based on three of her best short stories.
Tape-Measure Murder: When Mrs Spenlow is murdered in St Mary Mead, the village gossips all agree that her husband must have killed her – until Miss Marple is called as an alibi....
The Case of the Perfect Maid: Miss Marple investigates the problem of a lady's maid who has been mysteriously sacked – while also helping her crime writer nephew Raymond West to cure his writer's block.
Sanctuary: Miss Marple and her god-daughter Bunch are horrified when they discover a dying man in the local church. Can Miss Marple deduce his identity – and his killer – from his last words?
First published in the collection Miss Marple's Final Cases, these three delightfully clever tales will keep you guessing till the end. Starring June Whitfield – reprising her role as Miss Marple for the first time since 2001 – they are dramatised for BBC Radio 4 by Joy Wilkinson.

Did Not Like Miss Marple's Voice
I had two issues with this: The voice used for Miss Marple made her sound like a raspy smoker. Secondly, these were extremely short, SHORT stories, just about an hour total for all three, and certainly not worth the purchase price.

Nice surprise!
Would you listen to Miss Marple's Final Cases again? Why?
Yes. I didn't know BBC planned to do any more of these books. I was so excited that June Whitfield is still Marple. Perfect!
Would you be willing to try another book from Agatha Christie? Why or why not?
I've listened to all of her works.
Which character – as performed by June Whitfield – was your favorite?
marple
Any additional comments?
The stories themselves are quick and rather dull, but the beauty of radio plays and familiarity of June Whitfield made it worth the purchase.

Glad they have done another Marple dramatisation
Although June Whitfield's performance is more subdued in this dramatisation , we have to consider that these are indeed Miss Marple's final cases and she's not getting any younger ( both the character and the performer ) ! I always think of June Whitfield as Miss Marple in the BBC dramatisations , so I was very happy that she was able to do these Final Cases . My only complaint is the dramatisations were very short but then I went on to listen to Miss Marple's Final Cases as read by Joan Hickson and each story was quite short as well . Miss Marple is my favourite Agatha Christie character and I thought this dramatisation was terrific .

A quick Lett's Guide to Agatha Christie Stories
Like all the reviews I read before purchasing this, I have to say the stories are a tad short but not unpleasurable. It is like a condensed story of each murder mystery so there is less suspense of a whodunnit, however, these 3 stories are still very entertaining and if you happen to be preparing lunch and want to listen to a story, it will be just about the right length before the potatoes and carrots have boiled. June Whitfield sounds genuinely older and it only adds to her performance and to the stories. I'm happy with the purchase as they were half price but I wouldn't pay full price for these 3 shortened stories, so I'd say to buy this when it is on sale.

only 30 minutes each, but good stories performed well. The stories are much simplified for the short time, so there aren't a lot of clues to pay along with.
