Story
When Pyresouls released, it was a brutal new virtual reality game with a twist: The first to beat the game would win billions of dollars. But after the Burgon Beast couldn’t be defeated, Pyresouls turned very real and unleashed an apocalypse of undead, monsters, and a system of levels and stats onto the world. For many years since, Jacob Windsor has fought with sword and shield to survive Post-Collapse Earth where only ancient, guilt-soaked weaponry can harm the monsters from Pyresouls.

Story
Felix's life on Earth had become a series of dead-end jobs, ruined relationships, and rotating apartments smaller than most postage stamps. By all accounts, even his own, he was a coward. Too afraid to move forward, to take risks. Yet when given the chance to choose between risking his life or walking away from a deadly encounter, he didn't hesitate. Moments before his untimely demise, Felix was snatched from earth and thrust into a magical world known only as "The Continent". Empowered by the "System", he learns that he can strengthen himself through combat and dedication.

A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

Publisher's Summary
A new home on the brink of disaster. A discovery of forbidden powers. And a savage winter fast approaching. Aldim does not suffer the weak.
The battle’s end was supposed to bring peace and establish the Bravers’ new home in the Shiverglades, but all it brought was pain and suffering. With his closest friends lost to another realm, over half of the settlement’s population injured, and missing supply chains, Hal doesn’t have a moment to rest. He may have won the battle with the Shiverglades, but he has yet to win the war.
The Beastborne has his work cut out for him if he plans to build a Sanctum that’ll last. Worse, a rival Founder plots against Hal, threatening to unleash an entity that is fated to scar the Manaseed and cull the Bravers Guild once and for all. Fortunately, there’s a lot to turn to that isn’t preordained. A Reaper-turned-friend, inventive koblins, industrious dwarves, Wyrd Strain, and Bonecrafting could defy their fate. And he isn’t the only one with newfound Class powers that might give them a fighting chance.
The Bravers Guild needs more than just survival. They need their home whole. But to do the impossible and reach across the divide between Worldshards to rescue their lost companions, the Manaseed’s Elysian powers must be stronger. Can the Bravers Guild Level Up their settlement and their Manaseed through building, fighting, and crafting to conquer the coming storm, or will they succumb to a doomed fate after all?

This book was a touch frustrating
I was pumped for this book, I really enjoyed the others. Normally I don’t mind the stats at all. However, this book went way overboard. Not only was it hours of settlement stats, they were mostly irrelevant & drawn out to the max. You could listen to the first few chapters then skip all the way to 40-45 w/o missing much of anything.
I hope the author focuses more on storyline in the next book. At least some good battle action with his new magics on full display. The last 10 hours or so picked up. For the love…put Pyresouls on the back burner & focus on this. You’ve started something great don’t ruin it!

TOO MANY STATS AND PROMPT REVIEWS
LITERALLY chapters worth of stats and prompt reviews, too much time spent wondering and trying to figure this or that out, and repeating the same thing several times like the SAME QUEST INFO OVER AND OVER ITS ANNNOYING...seriously get on with the story some stats are fine, but not several chapters in a row
I do like the support characters for the most part and the story line, MC is more than a little whiny and moronic sometimes, other wise he isn't to bad

146 chapters in to get to any action
I should have listened to the other reviews and saved my time. The first 100+ chapters spent on the drama of the MC's angst over stats and worrying over supplies for the guild growth. Approximately 4 chapters on the characters left behind with the coblins. Save your money. I'm done with this series!

Fine, but expected more
Disappointing compared to the last 2. Had some very solid moments but just way to much angst in the part of the MC - hours and hours of whiny introspection turn this into a bit of a slog. Also sending half the main cast away at the end of the last one and 95% of this one was a questionable choice. Led to a lot of long conversations with characters we don't know or have any connection to. Overall still a lot of good here, interesting world and a lot of potential in where he can take the story. Will be getting the next one and hope this was a one-off

A great story to listen to whilst at work!
I see a lot of reviews complaining about too many stats etc. When read as an actual book it's easy to skip past these and honestly it's not even that bad. Sometimes things are repeated however it doesn't pull you from the story.
The beastborn series Is an amazing addition to the LitRPG genre. the idea is great and this book sets up so many great stories for the future. Parts had me laughing out loud and the character interactions really are great. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Internal focus
This was mainly about internal struggle and progression. As the MC goes inside himself we get to see how his group handles the new situation.
Sometimes there where abit to focused on the feelings of the MC. Getting abit less overall progression to let the MC progress. But otherwise this book was just as good as the others with the ending leaving me to just want more.

There is excellent world building in this book and I’m looking forward to the next book… I won’t get the audio though. The narrator is a wonderful performer and he brings the book to life but there’s too much stats in this book not new stats either but stuff that’s been in the other 2 books… we had a strong focus on Hal’s stats for first 41 chapters and we also went over some other people’s stats. If I’m reading I can skip over this “filler text”

Disappointing for this series
I have listened to many litrpg's now and this series has become one of my favourites. The first two books were entertaining, lots of action and progression with the story and characters.
However I feel this book was a let down, nothing of interest happens. I have spent over 20 hours waiting for the story to get moving. Most of the time was spent at the settlement which was interesting as I do love a bit of base building and so on. I did lose interest half way through though.
I really do hope the next book in the series can improve on this one, it was a much slower pace, which may have been needed to set up the following story line and character relationships.
However keep up the good work, I'll be looking forward to the next book and seeing more of Hal and his friends adventures.

Good story but so many stats
Firstly I like the story. It's why I'm still listening to this series. The performance is good, and I enjoy it. But it seems like almost 50% of this book is reading stats. Why so much detail on stats and level ups? It's very tedious and distracts from the story. Devote the time to adding details to the interesting sub plots.

to much focus on stats
loved the story as per usual and the narrator is ten out of ten would listen again. but as some other reviews say it is very heavy on the stats. I found myself skipping through them almost every time by about 3 hours into the book. other then that, loved it! and can't wait to see what happens next in hals story

Author to scared to go forward
Seemed like the author could not figure out how to push the story forward, and just made up a bunch of nonsense stories here and their. Not a great follow up book from the previous 2

Good Isaiah
A very interesting read. Excellent writing and oration as always. I did think the ending was a little bit abrupt but still very good. Can’t wait for book for.

good percentage just stat's not story
story was absent, a good part of the book was just stat's. You either gritted teeth and just went with it or you skipped huge chunks to get to story parts. Narrator is very good just story let it down.

Great story concept. It connects the unexpected and expected elements of this style book well. I did struggle a little with the length of static updates throughout the beginning of the book.

loved the action and adventure
loved the action adventure, passion and strife but it was a little draining when it came to the long winded stat considerations. still gets a 4 star from me
