Publisher's Summary

There’s only one rule in this business: Don’t fall in love.

Getting romantically involved always brings trouble, and I already have plenty of that working for Eric Santone. This job requires focus and a lack of morals - two things I undoubtedly have.

Until the beautiful bartender I’ve been watching for the last year needs help. I can’t fight the instinct to protect Michelle. Or my desire for the woman who’s too damn good to get involved with the likes of me.

Secrets. Lies. Backstabbing. Death. It’s all just part of this gig.

But I never could have anticipated how deeply entangled the girl of my dreams really is in all this mess...or what I’ll do to protect her.

3.5 Stars

I found the narrator of this read to be a good narrator and I enjoyed his tone and inflections that he provided the characters to bring them to life. As to the story itself, it was an entertaining story that had lots of little twists and turns, some steam built in, strong characters and followed a relatively smooth path.

Saviour or criminal

I found this story held my attention all the way through. The attraction between Joe and Michelle seemed a little one sided…Joe looking out for Michelle where Michelle questions Joe’s actions. I felt this really could have been a actual true crime story…right from the beginning Joe had reasons for the way he felt and the actions he took. I liked how the secondary characters took the story in twists that kept it interesting. I also feel the narrator did a excellent job. He kept the story true to life and made Joe appealing. I received a free copy and this is my honest opinion.

Exciting

Joe is an amazing character. He went through so much and still was a good guy under it all. It takes a while for Michelle to see things from Joe’s view, but she never stops. Loved the action and suspense throughout. Such an exciting awesome book. The narrator’s voice made it a great listen.

Good story

I love dual narrators, it makes a story come alive and this one is wonderful, exciting and thrilling, I love the voices especially Joe's. The story was good too all the drama you come to expect from a Mafia read.
