Publisher's Summary

The Monster Girl Defense Force is really good at their job. They've carved out a small niche in an otherwise desolate and harsh world, and for the moment, all seems well.

But trouble is on the horizon, and to stop it, they'll need something they haven't had in a long time.

A man.

phhhttttt!

I have enjoyed other books by this author but this one does not cut it. it flows like mud. all characters are weak. the mc is extremely forgetable. the limeable characters are terrible. do not waste your time. I got within 4 hours of finishing and just couldn't. the narrator did a good job but. material is lacking.

Not XXX

It looks like it would be XXX, but it's not!
I'm three hours in and only one sex scene?
Not what I was expeting!

Alot better then I thought.

I downloaded this book assuming it would be bad.
I was surprised when I actually liked the story.
Enough I'll download the next.
Only negative parts are the XXX scenes progressively get more and more cringy do to bad writing. But excluding that. the story is great, happy ending with enough questions left hanging to want more.

Fun little story

I will say I did enjoy this book overall. I did become invested in the characters. Everything flowed smoothly except 1 thing. It's the year 2099 and only a short time since the fall of modern civilization due to the zombie apoc, but all modern convienances are gone. People live in castles with no electricity and fight with swords and spears. Guns would still be a great way to kill the zombies. A head shot is a head shot, be it by sword or gun. There wasn't a good explanation for that, but otherwise it's a fun story and I have purchased the 2nd in the series and listening to iut now. :)

The end is less than the best.

Thought the ending is less then the best the book itself is a well made masterpiece. The last hour is a bit off.

the journey does not earn the ending

chris dos not grow as a character, he is not challenged. the story does not earn the conclusion. nothing is built up to. relationships seem way to one-sided. Chris just walks and others react.

Ehh… He’s written better

I like Simons writing personally, although I think he’s a B+ writer (which is fair, cuz he puts out a lot of writing. He’s quantity, not quality). This particular piece is certainly not his best. There’s a bit too much Deus Ex Machina, not a whole lot has an explanation, and things just sort of happen…really really conveniently. The performance is good, the voice actress has quite the range.
