Publisher's Summary

Level up your animals, breed your monster-girls, save the farm!

When Jerry follows the trail of his missing uncle, he discovers a mysterious monster-girl and an equally mysterious region called Delom where everything works like a video game. But there isn't time to gawk, because Jerry's inherited his uncle's farm, once the most famous animal breeder in Delom, and everything is falling apart. The animals are low level, there's not enough food to keep their health up, and a greedy developer wants to put Jerry and the farm out of business.

But if Jerry can discover his uncle's greatest secret, he might just be able to level up enough to save the farm. All he has to do is figure out how to breed monster-girls!

Not what I expected and not in a good way

Not that good of a monster girl harem. Not to spoil it, but the whole "breeding" is done by eggs and a machine. Plus the first 75% of the book there's only one "monster girl" who comes and goes. No real monster girls till the last hour or two of the book. My advice, save your credit and go take a gander at the Wild Wastes series for a good monster girl harem book.

not for me.

the whole story is just to ..... weird and the MC selling off sentient beings has pets or whatever just doesn't feel right, then their is the fact all the animals are people faces this just crosses a line for me.

The narrator is great she a great job and was easy to listen to but what she had to work with I will not keep.

Thoughts

It has a weird sense of morality. They take good care of the animals but when it comes to the more sentient ‘monster’ girls they are still treated as technical animals who are sold to the highest bidder, with their innocence or ‘animal instincts’ they believe you if you tell them who their master is. Slavery or morally acceptable?

Seriously, Don't.

Should be called Animal-girl Ranch because there are no monsters, barely any women, and it's a Ranch, not a farm. There's no thought put into this and feels written by an algorithm between one-hand jam sessions by Simon Archer. Beginning has some neat little things that don't matter, middle is meh at best, "everything" happens in the last two hours and it's only good for inducing vomit. If LitRPG is only about using phrases such as "level up", then this counts. Picked this up to laugh at how bad it would be and somehow was still worse. Narrator needs practice with pronouncing and matching tone to dialogue, but honestly, why try when you're given something like this?
According to the author, get a women to like you by slapping her on the butt. Follow up with author as to what happens. Thanks, bye, don't buy.

A Hard Listen

i wanted to like this book, but after 4 chapters, I can't go any further. First, the narration is stilted with a short pause after every word, as if someone were reading from cue cards that were held up almost too far away. second, the conversations seem to be written by someone who doesn't talk to humans. No one talks the way these characters do, over explaining everything. Third, after four chapters there still is nothing to draw me in. All the characters are presented in 2D, with no depth. Do yourself a favor, take a pass on this one.

Pretty Good

I love the concept, and the story is great. The narrator, while not great at doing male voices, was definitely good, and varied the girl's voices enough that there was no monotony in listening. My only real issue is the orgy scene. The first time Violet and Jerry have sex, it felt natural. The build up between them since they met and the constant sneaking around helped build a believable tension between them that culminated in them having sex. But the orgy scene had zero build up. Jerry created the other two animal girls, names them, and then they aren't mentioned again until the orgy. The scene just felt put of place. No build up, no tension, not even a plot point to further. The girls surprise him, massage him, have sex with him, and then disappear when he showers after. And Violet is the only one really mentioned again after that scene. It kinda feels like the scene was added just to create another sex scene for the book.

Overall, I love the book. Its not overly exotic or explicit, and, aside from the orgy scene, doesn't have any issues with flow or story development. I'm eagerly awaiting books 2 and 3 to make it to audible. I just hope the future books don't have randomly added sex scenes just for filler.

Great Story

I really enjoyed this book! Loved the characters and the plot. It setup a lot of problems to be solved I can’t wait to see the answers to the riddles. The narration was excellent, I certainly enjoyed the experience!

A popcorn book

worth listening to, but not addiction inducing bingefest. Very much fantasy, a bit cringe in some parts, with a story decent enough to have you wanting to listen to a sequel.
