Monsters and beasts roamed the earth and were slain by soldiers and adventurers who were, in turn, killed by stronger threats. Heroes and villains created new epics and were forgotten when their successors appeared. This was the way of the Infinite World. Publisher's Summary
The world has ended, and those worthy of it have received the chance for a new life in a new reality.
Zach grew in power and thrived in the post-Framework world. He became a respected leader, a shining example of what it meant to be good. But as the world ended, he had only one thought: to punish the monster that had killed the world long before the Framework ended it. Yet not even with his incredible power was he able to stand against the World Ender. His arrival in the new realty, the Infinite Realm, gives him the chance to grow stronger, to find the monster again - and make it pay.
Ryun survived the chaos after the arrival of the Framework by pushing harder than anyone else. He grew in power until he became the most powerful being that had ever walked the planet; but he is hated by the world, called a monster by all others, the World Ender. As the world ends and he steps into a new one, where people stronger than him have lived for centuries, he finds himself lost and without purpose. The only thing that had mattered to him had been lost to him long ago. He truly was the monster that people considered him to be, and he now finds himself wondering if this new reality has a place for someone like him - but he had never been one for lying down and dying without a fight. One world fell to his power, and another might follow.

Kind of twisted and overrated
This audiobook was really puzzling. In the beginning it appears to set up the main character as Zach - the person fated with stopping the "monster" that destroyed the world. However this person only gets about 25% of the plotline. Instead the book provides hours about the main character, the monster Ryun, in a misguided attempt in trying to garner sympathy with his situation and turn the tables into making him an antihero. Except he does not have the necessary redeeming qualities. It's like emphathizing with Hitler because you learn a Jewish person killed his girlfriend so his murder of innocent children and women etc is understandable. I wasted way too many hours waiting to see why the author spent so much time on this character. Sure there is some lame mention of a power that sort of possesses him for some of the time but does not adequately cover all his actions. He has the stunted emotional maturity of a school shooter and really who wants to root for someone like that.
Not to mention Ryun is laughably overpowered. Every single action he takes provides him with godlike power as to drain any suspense from the plot. Trust me, save the credit and skip this one.

Refreshing western take on cultivation
I had to write this review to give kudos on publishing a book longer than 8 hours. It was very entertaining and enjoyable from start to finish. The author did a great job of jumping back and forth from past to present without losing focus on story line. It was used to enhance the story and explained as the plot was expanded. I am tired of being trolled for credits by authors breaking up their story into “episodes” to bleed consumers dry. In fact I refuse to finish story lines despite already investing book after book. I removed one star however for the book coming to an abrupt end without completion. I will buy the next however because it really was 34 hours of entertainment.

Zack is completely insufferable
Early on he's immediately judgemental dismissive and violent towards his "friend".
Unfortunately zack is also one of our main POV characters so we spend a lot of time listening to him whine and complain and blame.
Ryun while being a sociopath is actually far more relatable so... yeah.

poor pacing
Too much talk about power levels with no context in the beginning. Author gives no scale and no build up for how strong they're supposed to be. You don't start with the main characters at god tier. Wasts too much time talking about power levels and weapons of people who die instantly. Why should I care? I've heard worse narrator performances, but overall it was pretty flat and sounded a bit like a grandparent telling a story to their grandkids.

Reasonable attempt at western Wuxia, Xianxia
The audiobook is a very decent 30 hour plus listen, and Phil Thorn dose a great job narrating the story.
The overall rating for book suffers from a number of failings. The story, while epic in scope, and world building can only go so far in entertaining the reader. The three main problems with this story are 1) the characters are uninspired, uninteresting and one dimensional. There are two main characters. One is a kind of anti hero, yet he is very shallow. I would describe him as a psycho, murder hobo, lone wolf, vigilante suffering from extreme ASD. The other other is a ultra stiff, law abiding, shallow know it all. So we are stuck with the telling of the story of two characters who are both uninteresting and impossible to care for. 2). As both characters are so shallow, there is very little good dialogue. Most of the story is the authors descriptions and the integral monologues of these two boring heroes. There is no good banter between side kicks or enemies. 3) the story stars with both MCs already at Demi god status, with full skill sheets and very OP. We get to listen to huge read outs of their skills, perks, dao, etc yet we never lived through how they got all these skills.
Because of the above three failings I can not recommend this book. If you want to read epic western wuxia / Xianxia I would recommend the Cradle series by Will Wright or The Defiance before the Fall by JF Brink, or He who Fights Monsters by Shirtaloon or Dungeon Crawler Carl by Dimerin, The Good Guys / Bad Guys or Reborn Apocalypse or the Noob town series etc These have much better hero’s and villains and much better dialogue and progression. If you wan read epic Wuxia / Xianxia, I would recommend I Shall Seal The Heavens by Er Gen or Coilng Dragon by IET.

Cultivation craziness and very addictive.
This book is a masterpiece and I will be continuing this series in its entirety. It follows two POVs, both MCs are total badasses (one more than the other though) and their experience after the earth's integration into the framework (system).
Ivan has done a great job with world building and the story has a great plot. Moreover, the narrator has done an amazing job.
At times like this I wish I could go into the future to complete the series in one sitting.

Masterpiece – beginning of something great
What can I say, I’m excited. Expected very little going into it but boy has it delivered. It feels fresh, building on what many great authors have done.
Gutted that the book is over.
First of all I thirst for darker characters and the MC was just dripping it. He was just Anime style badass. Mr Hall do not dilute him, I had a sense he might but please don’t do it. There is the golden boy 2nd MC if you need that (yawn).
The story just feels epic. Foreboding, there are so many level, it just makes you feel that this a true multiverse. So much more coming.
The Magic system is rich and complex, it’s awesome.
The story is 34.5hours, that just feels so rare for the LitRPGs that have been churned out lately. The time just melted away. OK the stat readouts are long but hey once you get the hang of it you power through those or skip.
True Thanks to the author Ivan Hall, it’s clear he has invested so much in getting out this foundation instalment.
I think this has the chance to rocket to being one the greatest saga’s out there. It needs more reads. I’m in awe.
Narration: I personally had to grow to like but by the end I was sold. Phil Thron is good.
Just read it and enjoy.
I’ll happily wait however long it takes for Mr Hall to complete this series if he continues not to compromise on the quality of his art. (Hopefully it won’t be too long)

Good story but!
The repetition of stat builds continuously throughout the books is tedious and takes away from the story. Still, the book is well thought out and it is well worth a listen!

Exceptional
awesome story line and potential. good balance of 2 pronged story lines and evolution of circumstances and side characters and back storys. narration is good but could be better but still recommend as one of the better, yet underdeveloped LitRPG novels.

Strongly recommend!
Listened close to 100 LitRPGs, this is up there.
Great world, characters and blending of classes and cultivation. Get it now, you won’t t regret.
Ps good work on narration!

struggled to finish...
it's a struggle to finish this book.
it is your standard MC cultivation story however...
the whole thing is just stats.
the characters are not deep, MC is your standard hated life/the old world/socialising but now he gets to cultivate and grow.
MC has titles/powers/stats that no one else gets so he never really hits an obstacle,
always gets perfect gear too.
honestly this whole thing reads like a basic forgettable anime series.
I'm pretty addicted to the genre and I regret purchasing this book.
the story stops here for me. 2 stars because at least it was long.

We’ll worth the money
Apart from the Audio being 30 hours long which is enough for me to give a bad book 3 stars. This book is extremely enjoyable. The past/present and different characters perspectives really adds to the story and is not annoying in any way.
If you are on the fence, buy this book you won’t regret it. I enjoyed it more than the Cradle series which I loved.
