As if he doesn't have enough to handle between running outlaws out of Cheyenne, keeping his brothers out of trouble, and avenging his father's death, Sheriff Sawyer McCade's meddling mother just dumped a mysterious mail-order bride on his doorstep. One woman can be more trouble than a band of renegades, and while this one has him all stirred up, he'd rather get to the bottom of the story she isn't telling. Rose Parker had it all - until a web of danger and deceit sends her running to Cheyenne posing as a mail-order bride. Escaping the evils of New York seems sensible until she meets the unsuspecting sheriff who didn't ask for her, has no intention of marrying her, and won't rest until he uncovers her secret and sends her back home.

Publisher's Summary
Montana Dawn - Book One in The McCutcheon Family Series
2010 Maggie Finalist, 2010 Gayle Wilson Finalist , RWA Golden Heart Finalist
Montana Territory, August 1883
When Luke McCutcheon finds Faith Brown about to give birth in her rickety wagon, his first instincts are to ride for help. Instead, he stays and delivers a beautiful baby girl. Unable to leave the pretty young widow and her little son and newborn unprotected in the Montana wilderness, he brings them along on his family's cattle drive, to the absolute delight of the other friendly cowboys.
Luke, third son of Montana's wealthy McCutcheon family, is different from his brothers. As the offspring of a Cheyenne warrior, he carries a chip on his shoulder for all to see. His flashing eyes and handsome face make Faith feel she's stepped into some long-ago tale where men cherish their women--and keep them safe. If only she could trust him! Faith is on the run, and although she's pampered and protected by Luke and his family, she just can't risk the consequences of sharing the details of her past--one that's hunting to take her back to the nightmare she's just escaped. Happy-ever-afters are for fairytales, she reminds herself sternly as her heart feels the warm pull of his. Still, she can't help but dream of a loving family, a home to call her own, a beautiful and bright...Montana Dawn.

Truly wonderful listen by a truly wonderful author
What did you like best about this story?
There were so many, when Luke help give birth to Faith's baby, the wonderful cow to funny, the ending, how Luck showed respect and made love look like love and not lust. When Faith help deliver Luke's sister-in-laws baby.Really the whole dang story was outstanding.
Have you listened to any of Corey M. Snow’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No I have not, at first he was an okay narrator but he soon pulls you in. Some of the voice were to close for me I had to really pay attention to know who was talking. Corey really did do a great job and has a lovely voice that you can listen to for hours.
Who was the most memorable character of Montana Dawn: McCutcheon Family Series, Book 1 and why?
For me it was the cow, I know that sounds weird. The way she was brought into it, the laughs you get from her and how things play out made her the best.
Any additional comments?
I haven't read any of Caroline Fyffe books that I have not love, she has a way of bring the West alive, you just wish you could turn the clock back and live in another time. You fall in love with her characters and wish they could be part of your family. The men are to die for, it would be a pleasure to have one of your own. I can never decide which one is my all time favorite I love them all. The ladies are just ladies, so sweet and kind. They are strong women who believe in standing and supporting them selves but always have room for the right man.
You have some wonderful characters here with each having lesson they must learn in life before they can go on to be the person they want to be. Luck who is wonderful, truly any women would be happy to fall for this half breed. He has to overcome his past and how he feels about his self before he can truly understand and make a life with Faith. He is a caring, loving family man who is waiting for the right women. Trust is a big issue with him and when Faith won't give him that he is ready to walk away. His mother has a few things to tell him that might just change how he thinks and bring him closer to the man he wants to be.
Faith has a past and she is on the run, her past is about to catch up with her in the worse way. Pregnant and along expect for her son, scared and not knowing which way to turn. Luke comes running up on his horse to safe the day. She agrees to go with him thinking if she stays with him for a little she has a better chance to out run the man chasing her. You luck runs out now she is in a tug of war of what to do. What is the best for her children and will she have to give in and marry her brother-in-law and live a life of hell again.
I truly enjoy each of Luke's family members each play a wonderful big part in this story. The cowhands were darlings as well as the adorable children. This story as most of Caroline does have lessons to remind us what is truly important in life. She gives love the true meaning and brings a compelling tale to all her stories. We get busy in today's world that we sometimes forget. Caroline always makes me remember why I fell for my husband, why he is my true hero in so many ways. She reminds me what is important and I give a little more TLC to my family.
The narrator has a very smooth and calming he puts just the correct amount of excitement into the listen. I did totally enjoy him but I have to say I like the other narrator she used in other books better. Don't get me wrong he did an outstanding job and it was a nice change. He does bring a lot to this story!
If you have not tried any of Caroline Fyffe books you really should. Her audio's are outstanding. One book or audio you will be hooked on the whole series.

What did you like best about this story?
I could truly feel the great heart of Luke. His sincere caring about Faith and her children.

This is a new experience for me. I enjoyed listening to Mr. Snow and his voice inflections as he read this book.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Listening to Luke's Mother relay the circumstances surrounding his birth and having an Indian father made me feel I could understand how this family came together.

Running Away to Somewhere Better
We've all been between a rock and a hard place at one time or the other. Faith has had a hard life which has recently reached the breaking point. She's on the run, but from what? Then there's Luke McCutcheon. A strong man with strong values, but with hauntings of his own. This first book in the McCutcheon Family Series introduces you to the whole family, their ranch hands, and some of the townsfolk of Y Knot, Montana. This is also one of the towns in the Mail-Order Brides series, of which Caroline Fyffe and Debra Holland each write compelling stories about finding out who you really are and what you didn't even know you were looking for.
The audiobook is a real treat. Corey Snow does great work putting voice to all the colorful characters along with a few unsavory ones that let us know there are those we need to watch out for. And that there is always a need for heroes. You feel like your part of the family. With all the action and nail-biting suspense to keep you looking forward to chapter after chapter. I highly recommend it.

Corey Snow did a great job.

I love everything that Caroline Fyffe writes. The one thing I enjoyed most, was to be able to close my eyes and go back into a whole different world. I felt like I was right there. Looking forward to more by Caroline Fyffe.

Have you listened to any of Corey Snow’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Dull
I fell asleep listening to this book and feel that I didn't miss anything. I don't know if it is just the writing or a combination of narrator and storyline but it is so slow and uninteresting to listen to. This is a money back book for me.

Easy listening- Highly recommended
What did you like most about Montana Dawn: McCutcheon Family Series, Book 1?
What I liked most about the book were the circumstances surrounding where Luke and Faith meet, when the characters are on the cattle run and when Luke goes off on his own to discover the truth behind Faith's situation.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Montana Dawn: McCutcheon Family Series, Book 1?
When Luke helps to deliver Faith's baby and he takes off his shirt to wrap the infant in it.
Which character – as performed by Corey M. Snow – was your favourite?
Corey M. Snow did an amazing job with the narration. I'm glad a male voice was chosen as Luke's character really stood out for me as the most likeable. There were a lot of male characters in this novel and the narrator made them individually come to life in a realistic way. They all sounded exactly as I would imagine cowboys to sound.
The narrator was excellent at completely changing his tone of voice for the female characters as well. Very well done.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I got caught up in this story very quickly and I could listen to it quite happily or a quite a lengthy period of time. I got a bit impatient with the storyline when Faith was staying at the McCutcheon's ranch as not a lot new happened. Ward was fairly quiet in the intimidation front and Faith was frustrating in her inability to confide in Luke despite the numerous opportunities he gave her.
Any additional comments?
I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook and would definitely check in with the McCutcheon clan again. There is a whole series ready to be enjoyed!
I would also jump at the chance to listen to books narrated by Corey M. Snow as it will be professionally produced, sound fantastic and the characters will really come to life.
