Story
If you’re the average person in the developed world, you spend 70 percent of your waking hours at work. And if you’re the average person, you’re miserable for most of those hours. This is simply not an acceptable state of affairs for your one shot at life. No matter your station, you possess incredible unique powers. It’s a modern myth that hard work and hustle are the paths to success. Inside you is a soul. And once you unleash it fully into the domain of work, magic happens. Awakening the Buddha and the Badass inside you is a process that will disrupt the way you work.

The Code of the Extraordinary Mind is a blueprint of laws to break us free from the shackles of ordinary life. It makes a case that everything we know about the world is mostly decided not by rational choice but instead by conditioning and habit. And thus most people live their lives based on limiting rules and outdated beliefs about pretty much everything - love, work, money, parenting, sex, health, and more - that they inherit and pass on from generation to generation.

The next Bill Gates will not build an operating system. The next Larry Page or Sergey Brin won’t make a search engine. And the next Mark Zuckerberg won't create a social network. If you are copying these guys, you aren't learning from them. It's easier to copy a model than to make something new: doing what we already know how to do takes the world from 1 to n, adding more of something familiar. But every time we create something new, we go from 0 to 1.

This Book touched a creative nerve. Superb!!
This book is beautifully written and well narrated, twelve hours of enjoyable listening on moonshots, Innovation and entrepreneurship left me with lots inspiration to go out and be part of big audacious solutions to the many problems still out there for humanity to solve. I highly recommend it to anyone pondering on how to solve the scarcity problems facing the world.
But among the numerous nuggets and sound advice throughout the book, this one in particular kept ringing in my head "Successful entrepreneurs do not fail, they pivot" is all I need to not give up on my vision.
