Publisher's Summary

Two lovers strive to trade a grim past for a bright future in this story of bittersweet yearning.

Tina Jenson belongs to the same social stratum as Harris Chapman, but he’s out of her league - at least that’s what she thinks before they jump in bed together. It’s the perfect night, but when she overhears crude, hurtful comments the next morning, she can’t get away fast enough.

Ten years later, Tina’s life is a mess. That night with Harris didn’t just hurt her feelings; it started a cascade of disappointment and heartbreak. Every time she bumps into Harris, her heart twists inside out. She still wants him, but she’s harboring a painful secret from their night together that she’s not ready to reveal.

Crossed signals, high-society whispers, and shame have kept Tina and Harris apart for years, but deep down, they’re hungry for each other and eager to write their own rules. Can they let go of the past and find their way back to each other, or are the barriers between them too high and too strong?

Good but slow

Put this on 1.1 speed when listening. Narrator is generally fine, but not my fav. Generally good, but story kind of drags out.

WELL I made it out alive!

First of all the story isn't great but I finished it. The narration is horrible.. Can we get her a drink of water!? And the voice she gives male character is revolting, I never thought someone reading a love story could make me feel like I've been molested...

honestly wish I could get my time back!

Loved the romance between Tina and Harrison. A secret and a tragedy in their past. Excellent love story and beautiful narration done by Ingeborg Riedmaier👌

Great

Natasha Anders knows how to tell a story. Her characters have depth. The narration was also well above average.

Not quite there

The story line was nice but the narrator “mail” voices were awful - especially Harris’s voice. The narrator made him sound breathy and it was so unbelievable and annoying.

The narrator voice not believable

For the Male voice, they should had use a man. the profanity was unreal in the female voice trying to sound like a male.

Binge-worthy for sure

I really liked the book, I laughed a few times, got emotional and the detail in it made me picture it all as if I was watching a movie.
My only problem was I felt like the monologue was boring, short, one worded conversations followed by so much narrative detail. I would’ve loved to have the characters speak genuinely. I never felt I understood Harrison when he was talking because it was so abrupt and monotone.
Just my opinion, the book was worth the listen though

What Can I Say

Natasha Anders is one of my favorite romance authors but this book is my least favorite. The main characters and story just weren't very compelling. To be honest I am having trouble putting my finger on just what was lacking. I guess I am just simply disappointed. I expected better. That said, I would however recommend any of her other audio books for a good romance listen.

Good story adequate narrator

the story touched on some sensitive issues, not my favourite from this author. I really like Ingeborg's accent but her breathy delivery became tedious and I couldn't wait for the story to finish.

More Than Anything

This book is emotional, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
