Publisher's Summary

I'm Griffin Reed - cutthroat entrepreneur and competitive bastard. Trust is a four-letter word, and everyone is disposable...except Britta Stone. Three years ago she was my everything before I stupidly threw her away. I thought I'd paid for my sin in misery - until I learned we have a son. Finding out she's engaged to a bore who's rushing her to the altar pisses me off even more. I intend to win her back and raise our boy. I'll have to get ruthless, of course. Luckily that's one of my most singular talents. Sixty days. That's what I'm asking the gritty, independent single mother to give me - 24/7. Under my roof. And, if I have my way, in my bed. Britta says she wants nothing to do with me. But her body language and passionate kisses make her a liar. Now all I have to do is coax her into surrendering to the old magic between us. Once I have her right where I want her, I'll do whatever it takes to prove I more than need her.

Contains mature themes.

Couldn't finish this one

I thought the story had potential but the narration was too fast and the voice was hard to listen to.

Just because of Christian Fox...almost finished

This book pissed me off...Britta the typical spineless doormat...I don’t know the end of the book, I stopped the moment she agreed to his bs plan...ugh! I like this author, but this didn’t do it for me.

I love Christian Fox voice, it’s soothing, but not even him could save this book for me.

Next up: Reed brother #2

Griffin and Britta's story is a tough one. Some of this story is brought up in More Than Want You (book 1 in this series), so you'll want to read that first--IMO. Griff and Britta were in love and their future together was assumed. Until Griff uncovers a betrayal he can't forgive. Leaving Britta broken-hearted, they go their separate ways, and move on from each other. When Griff learns that he made a stupid assumption about Britta, and more shockingly discovers he has a son, he's determined to win both their hearts.

Britta, determined to raise her son without Griff, she's not about to let him back in her heart. But can Britta push away the only man she's ever loved, and the father of her child? This was a more emotional story, and I could absolutely see both Griff and Britta's sides. With not only herself to think about, Britta has to take into account her son, and his relationship with his father. This book was no less hot and steamy than More Than Want You, and this was also a great story with another Type A personality, and the one woman who can keep him in line.

Christian Fox is fantastic narrating this emotional tale.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how the Maxon and Griff's sister, Harlow's story unfolds in the next book.

Last chapter disaster

I wanted to turn this book into confetti when I got to the last chapter and the storyline twisted so stupidly, but it's an audiobook and I love Christian Fox narrations so that was out. What the author was thinking by dragging my heart through such UNBELIEVABLE last minute trauma, I have no idea. So despite loving many other books by Shayla Black, I will think long and hard before blithely buying anymore. I've already bought the next one in this series but now I'm afraid to read it. I don't need to become so crushed trying to get to the HEA.... if this is Shayla's new formula, I'm out. And supremely disappointed.

Great book! Great series so far!

This one hit a little too close to home. It voiced a lot of stuffed I have never been able to voice to anyone, so I made real connection with this one. Not, to mention the narrator is one of my favorites!

More!

This book gives you more and makes you want more! My second Shayla Black book seemed like a simple premise, but oh no, nothing simple here. This book delivered incredible feels, my insides were twisted into knots for most of the story. I was kind of expecting an HEA but didn’t really think I was going to get one based on the complicated characters actions. I really enjoyed how the characters from the first book in the series were involved in the second book. I also enjoyed meeting new characters that have been talked about and we’ll see more of in the next book and also learning more about the deeply disturbing and dysfunctional family dynamic of the Reeds. Now, on to the next sibling!
