Intriguing 1st Book for This Author

This book is fill with all sorts of various Mythological creatures from all the different
intriguing mixer of different myths and ancient gods. I was impressed with the characters and how they interacted, even the ones most people would label bad or evil with ones labeled good or righteous. The Narrator does a Great job with the characters voices and the entire storyline. Looking forward to the 2nd book.

Good story, lovely narration

This is the first I’ve read of this author and the first I’ve heard from this narrator as well. I enjoyed both and look forward to hearing more!

Story: the plotline kept me engaged and interested. I will say that there were moments when I was surprised, and in ways I enjoyed. The story is clearly leaving room for more to come, though this story was complete in itself. I look forward to the next installment.

Narration: Kristina’s narration kept me engaged and in the story. Her German accent was refreshing and while at first I was worried it would be distracting, I actually really enjoyed it. Also, she does a great job with her characters, some of whom have genuine sounding southwestern accents. She strikes a good balance between emotion and objective narration, sounding engaging while not going to far into ‘performing’. I look forward to hearing more from this narrator!

Excellent book!!

While this is not typically my genre of book, I decided to give it a try based on a recommendation and I am VERY glad that I did. The story is “page-turning” (I found myself doing extra chores around the house as an excuse to keep listening). It’s well written and Kristina Rothe does an excellent job narrating.

More than Human

If you love phenomenally written books that contain werewolves, vampires, Gods and other deities you will absolutely love this book. This book is entertaining, thrilling and full of action. The storyline is as unique and the characters are well developed. I was hooked from the first chapter and could not stop listening to find out who were the villains and what plans had he/she put into action. Kristina Rothe did an amazing job as narrator. I highly recommend this book.
I received this book for free at my request but it has no bearing on my honest unbiased review that I am freely giving here.

Amazing story!

This is such an incredible story! It’s a new twist on the creatures of mythology and beasts of nightmares, set in the modern day. With such a diverse cast of characters, ranging from werewolves and vampires to dragons and gods, and with so many different arcs in motion; I can’t wait to see what happens next in the series. An incredible achievement. It’s hard to believe that this is the author’s first book.

5 Snarling Sharp Teeth

The walk with Jule on her journey to become more than human was interesting to listen to. I enjoyed the narrator. I enjoyed the story.

This was a great shifter story. Usually you start out knowing they're shifters and it just happens. This takes you through the change from the beginning as Jule learns she's a lycanthrope (werewolf) and then finds her Teeth and fur. Some people are not who you think they are and friendships are broken. This is about Love, Loss, Life, and Awakening. I loved all the emotions this book emitted. I loved that there's a fight with a dragon, and that there were Ravens are in it. ❤ I'm looking forward to the next book.

Delightful

A story of love, being true to yourself, and finding your way through turmoil. The characters are relatable, I found myself often thinking of a good friend whenever Loki was around in the story.
The main character Jule has such an amazing transformation from where she is in the beginning of the story, not only as someone who is “more than human” but as someone who is also wholly human and lives with all the imperfections; self doubt, remorse, hopelessness, that so many people deal with, and overcomes them beautifully.
The love is very tasteful, you will be absolutely comfortable letting your teen read this book, though a few curse words are tactfully used in the necessary places.
Excited to see what book two has to offer!

Unique Combination

Returning to a small town in New Mexico for her friend’s funeral, Jule reconnects with a few of her friends. It is at this point the adventure begins and secrets are revealed. For Jule, her world changes drastically and the process of accepting her new life begins.

The author, Heather Ashbury carefully weaves a magical story consisting of gods, angels, werewolves, werebears, demons, and more. Weaving in so many different characters – mystical, mythical, and more was well done and unique. Ashbury took her time to build the characters and their connections. The story flowed smoothly and without flaws. The imagery was rich and vivid.

The narrator, Kristina Rothe delivers a remarkable performance capturing each character’s personality perfectly and projecting it to her audience accurately. She speaks clearly with a solid steady rhythm that is both soothing and engaging.
The combining of the different creatures/beings was fresh and unique making the story highly enjoyable. I hope to hear the next one.

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook, it was well done.

Great first book!

A very interesting story about the supernatural. Particularly werewolves. The action stayed steady not alot of boring parts. The audio book was also solid. The narrator did a good job with different characters. Especially the grandma voice.. If you know then you know.. lol. Overall not a bad read. Can't wait to read the second book!

Great spin

I loved how the story included historical features and characters. Definitely different from others that try to pull it off and fail. The narration was on point and made the characters feel real. I'd love to have another or numerous others, as this world is intriguing.
