Story
John Doc Henry had been on the shortest, crappiest end of the stick since the first day of his life; no parents, bad foster parents, and abysmal luck at every turn. The day his life changed started out exactly like he had come to expect. His car died on a rarely traveled road, and he broke his toe shortly after dodging the one other car on the road. When it stopped and backed up to him, the license plate read “LADYLUK”, adding insult to injury.

Gregory and his wives fought honorably and hard to advance to the finals, where their last fight was against the Eternal Flame. With their rigorous training and communication, they managed to defeat the arrogant clan, letting them stand alongside their novice friends as champions. The excitement of being the champions wasn’t the happiest part of their year, though. That came after the tournament, when all five of their friends—Nessa, Daciana, Victoria, Clover, and Ling—joined Aether’s Guard.

Story
Alvin woke in a room that was not his, to discover that he had died and his brain had been bargained off cheaply to pay off someone else’s debt. It did not sit well with him. It didn’t surprise him that even in death, people were still using him for their own purposes. He had never exactly been a good guy, but everyone had their breaking point, and he had found his. The bastards in charge had uploaded his mind into a virtual death game. The whole world could now pay to see him play it and probably die. Regardless, he was not about to wait for death to come for him.

Story
Warner spent his days like almost anyone else. He got up, went to work, answered phone calls in a call center, went home, spent time with his daughter, and went to sleep. Only to repeat the pattern over and over and over. Life was as mundane as anyone could ever fear it to be. Today was the day that all that would change. On this day, his daughter Maya would be nearly fatally injured, plunging Warner into a world of paranormal creatures, monsters, and magic he’d never known existed. The only consolation is that he discovers he’s not quite human, either.

I'd always thought I was your average dude with an 18-wheeler and an addiction to energy drinks, but it turns out there might be something more brewing in my blood. Now instead of some desert highway, I'm stuck in a whole new realm, and it's full of worm cults, actual lot lizards, one seriously smoking catgirl mechanic, and enough sand and bloodthirsty creatures to make me think I took a wrong turn somewhere. But I might be able to add a whole new career path to my resume.

Death isn’t always the end. I was a soldier, fighting for the lives of the whole world, when I went and got myself obliterated by this magic alien monster. I figured that was it. Game over, done. But, then I woke up in a different body, in a strange world full of dust and ruins, with awesome martial arts skills I’d never had before. Not to mention a chi gift thing that seemed to work a lot like magic. And, there were these words seared into my brain like a motivational quote: You can save them. You can save all of them.

Best female narration I've ever heard
I'll start with the narrator. She is my absolute favorite female narrator, and the only narrator I like more than her is R C Brey. She can do some of the best masculine voices (for her gender), and has a vast array of female voices that are truly unique. 10 out of 10 for narration.
The story is also quite good, however I do have a few gripes. Mostly I just felt the book was either too short or not enough was really happening, there is too much of the same ole same ole. There are also parts I felt could've been shortened greatly and others that I'd like to have seen fleshed out. I'd still like to point out I loved the story and am greatly looking forward to the next. I also like the fact that even though the sex in this book is extremely limited, the author still put a great deal of effort into writing the parts where there is and didn't over or under indulge the audience in it. I'd give the author a 8 of 10.

Not My Cup of Tea
I wanted to like it. I really did. The book has a great premise and the writing is good, but I gave up on it. For the most part, the MC made be cringe. I just couldn't deal with his personality and his holier than thou attitude. I know it's a fantasy novel, and the MC is suppose to be some knight in shinning armour but I couldn't stop my self from rolling my eyes everytime he opened his mouth. Every interaction with females was structured to remind the reader of his virtuous ideology and emphasize his pure moral character. At first, I was like "ok he's a gentleman",but after 6 hours I was skipping whole dialogue scenes. No one can relate to this MC because he is the perfect gentleman stereotype. The other thing that was driving me nuts was nearly the whole book takes place in one town where the MC mostly chops down trees! There is hardly any progession in the main plot in this book. I feel like I could listen to the first hour of this book and then skip to the sequel.

Epic Gamelit Adventure!
Good story and narration!
MC's buddy invites him to hang out at a bar, and while Sean is waiting for his buddy to show up, a stranger picks a fight with him. Stuff happens, and gods compete for his sole (turns out he got killed by Thor). Choosing his deity, Sean gets transported to a world with game mechanics with abilities and a body crafted by a pantheon - free from commitments, but with the hope that he can right a distant wrong. Gamer shenanigans ensue...
I loved this book! I can't wait for more!
Note:

Frustrating MC and Boring Story
Morrigan's Bidding is an isekai where the MC reincarnates into a new world with a bunch of amazing abilities and limitless potential to learn more. What does he do with this potential? He becomes a lumberjack and constantly apologizes for his lack of cultural knowledge. Nice. The primary "villains" are one dimensional characters, the plot is slow and uninteresting and the relationships are inane at best. I'm not really sure what genre this falls into beyond the blanket label of fantasy but if you're looking for GameLit, Isekai or some sort of harem adventure there better uses of your money and time.
TLDR: 3/10 Bad Story, Weak MC, Pretty Good Narration

Very short
I prefer the first book in a series be longer.
While I find several of the contrivances trite, there's a lot to like. The nature of the MC's gifts is interesting and different, and there's more humor than I expected.

started great but got lost in romance
i was optimistic when i first started the book. it had a great little action intro, then multiple deity intro promised a possible myths and legande story, but after the initial plot intro it just went flat.
i probably missed half the book due to tuning out or falling asleep. each time i refocased or woke up it was just more romance. the lead character was a Mary Sue to the extent he could do everything with his god granted gifts and i ended up not careing for the protagonist. I think there was some action but i got tired of rewinding to find it. frankly it was just boring. this is as far as i go. i dont think its fair to return this book after listining (mostly) all the way through but i wont be buying the next.

Don't let the cover art fool you.
Anyone familiar with Daniel Schinhofen or Andrea Parsneau would likely buy this book for that alone. But we all have likely let a cover we weren't enthused about dictate our ultimate decision.
I really enjoyed this book and while I might have made some different decisions at one time or another. I am excited to read the next installment.

Lots of unexciting prose
Daniel Schinhofen's novel had a "wing-it" feel to it with no sense of having forethought given to the progression of the story. The MC's lack of backstory, unimaginative isekai transition and four-fifths of novel was uninteresting character development. the characters, such as they were, were lumberjack harvesters, a wood-shaping half-metal carpenter and defense/prey hunter secondary characters. Primary antagonist was a boisterous and blunt bully whose participatory sections actually had the effect to make the novel even less interesting.
Andrea Parsneau's performance was nowhere near her usual best and her attempt at mimicking snake-speak was mostly unintelligible.
I'll not continue with this series.

decent narration, no story
I think a more appropriate title for the book would be "Fiona and her cringe slave"
RANT...
The mc is a doormat he is effectively indoctrinated the moment he gets into a new world and simply does not understand how he's being used which is frustrating for the reader.
An example would be where mc attempts to compliment fiona it was obviously a compliment but because of 'dumb culture' it's a insult. a normal person would let this go explain what he did was wrong and why. she does not, she swears she never wants to see him again and some other bull. This is made even worse because the only reason mc is in the village is to learn about the culture as is said in his deal making her a hypocrite and a vile evil human being. of course mc eventually makes amends by swearing to do anything she says effectively except less obvious cause slavery might make this more than a snooze fest.
The worst part of the book though is the lack of story there basically is none. the entire book is effectively trying to sleep with fiona and that's it and I guess some tree chopping but that's about as intresting as watching paint dry so no fun either.
The 'twist' was unrealistic and immature no reason just like a 12 year old decided to change up the genre from romance/erotica to detective/thriller. people general have a reason for slaughtering a entire village they dont just be like today I'm gonna kill everyone I've lived with for a decade.
The only good bit was the meeting with the gods and even that was mostly fueled by the premise the writer had no idea where this was going and its painfully obvious when the most intreasting thing that happens In the book is MC cutting down FOUR trees. Incredible I know.
I think the author included litrpg elements to draw in readers but had no intention of writing a litrpg beyond the bare minimum for amazon to accept it. it is a unethical thing to do but I'm pretty sure the author only cares about sales.
i wont be reading on this writer shows no talent in delivering a story and that's the most important part in fantasy.

Really enjoyed this book, went into it expecting very little not helped by the kind of uninspiring covers (nice art but doesn't intrigue or lure you in).
The narraration by Andrea is absolutely first class, she's the female version of RC Bray.
The story is interesting covering several pantheons with the mystery of the MCs skills, talents etc & where its going. The earlier books are the weaker from story pov but still very enjoyable the books get better as you go

Morrigan's Bidding:Binding Words,Book1
Daniel Schinhofen shows us all again how talented he is with this book. I love this book in the book form on Kindle but with the Narration talent of Andrea Parsneau who voiced the feeling of the characters in this book is fabulous I would love to give this book ten stars it's a must to own on your audible. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆.
