Story
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Publisher's Summary
Jessica is invited to join other crime writers at an interactive murder mystery weekend in an historic mansion turned resort. A theatrical troupe presents a play for the paying guests, but a young actor's death during the actual performance isn't part of the script. The local sheriff has never investigated a murder before and enlists Jessica's help and expertise. As she begins to put the pieces together in her folksy fashion, Jessica recognizes that this could well be her last performance if she doesn't uncover the killer soon.

If you loved the show..you will enjoy the book
Donald Bain did a good job in bringing back in the written word the tv series. The characters seem true to form. This story gets you from the beginning and keeps your interest throughout the book. If you are looking for a good mystery that is G rating; no extreme violence or sexual sences or foul language; just a good old fashion mystery then this is a book you would enjoy. Cynthia Darlow does a wonderful job in narrating the story.

Not Angela Lansbury
Picked this up on a daily special, thinking to share with my grandmother as we had run out of Mrs Pollifax stories. My grandmother enjoyed, but I could hardly keep listening. The series is churned out by Donald Bain at the rate of 2 a year so there are a lot of "Murder She Wrote" books. The actual plot was similar to an extended Murder She Wrote episode... clean, cozy and through Jessica Fletcher's eyes.
Angela Lansbury's picture appears on the cover... but, she is not the narrator. Cynthia does an over the top impression of Angela Lansbury's voice and your mind is constantly getting jarred out of the story by the narration. I think I would have enjoyed a completely different voice rather than a phony Angela.
Not going to pick up any more of these... even on sale.

Another Adventure With Jessica
If you could sum up Murder, She Wrote: A Question of Murder in three words, what would they be?
Location Characters Puzzle
What other book might you compare Murder, She Wrote: A Question of Murder to and why?
Any of the other Murder She Wrote books. It follows the format. If you liked earlier books in the series, this one won't disappoint you.
Have you listened to any of Cynthia Darlow’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I've heard her performances on books in the Murder She Wrote series. She does an equally good job in this book.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No. I was drawn into the story and enjoyed listening to it.
Any additional comments?
To me the Murder She Wrote books are escapist, and that's just fine with me. If I want "reality" I'll listen to the news! In this instance Jessica is staying at an old hotel during a snow storm. I enjoyed picturing the hotel in my mind. I didn't have to imagine the snow - it was snowing where I live when I listened to the book!
I had read a print copy of the book some time ago. Even so, I enjoyed listening to the audio version. In fact, I had forgotten how both the real and imaginary murder ended, so I was surprised all over again.

Jessica Does It Again!!!!
Where does Murder, She Wrote: A Question of Murder rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This series of books can't really be compaired to other more graphically serious murder mysteries. No blood and gore, no overly graphic scenes. Just a good clean fun and good mystery. This is a good mystery in the fashion of the TV series.
What did you like best about this story?
I like the fact that one can use their imagination with this writing style. I sometimes get lost in the gruesome discription of murders in other murder/suspense mysteries. That said this writer wants you to use your imagination, Bravo....
Have you listened to any of Cynthia Darlow’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I am new to Cynthia Darlow. This series is the first I have become aquainted with Cynthia. That said, she does an excellant job with the voices of Jessica and the inspector. Since this is an offshoot of the TV show. I like the idea that Cynthia has captured Jessica's regional accent and that of the Irish-English Inspector.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Snowbound, Murder Mystery Weekend, A murder and Jessica.
Any additional comments?
Sometimes it's nice to just enjoy a book!!!!

Typical TV-like production with a good plot twist
What did you like best about Murder, She Wrote: A Question of Murder? What did you like least?
The end. Not the answer to the murder, but in that same old way a Detective allows Jessica to take over the investigation with full faith, and not even asking any questions. You go girl. Yikes.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
At the conclusion, let the cop be a cop, and not a wimp.
Did Cynthia Darlow do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Yes she did a fine job, with a little more exaggerated eastern accent.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
If they change how the cop interacts with Jessica at the end.
Any additional comments?
I know all murder mysteries are a bit unreal. I get that. But make it more believable at the conclusion of the book. No detective would ever let an old lady (like me) run the show when you are capturing the murderer. Hello?

A Question of Murder is delightful
If you could sum up Murder, She Wrote: A Question of Murder in three words, what would they be?
If you enjoy Murder, She Wrote books, this one will not disappoint. I'm biased because I enjoy the atmosphere and characters created by Jessica Fletcher and Donald Bain. This book is classic.
Which character – as performed by Cynthia Darlow – was your favorite?
Jessica Fletcher, of course.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The flow of the book was all entrancing.

Hard time starting it
What did you like best about Murder, She Wrote: A Question of Murder? What did you like least?
I keep starting and stopping this book, and I really like all the Murder She Wrote series, but the narrator's voice is just distracting. Her phony accent is over the toop and unnecessary.
What three words best describe Cynthia Darlow’s performance?
In my opinion, the 3 best words to describe Ms. Darlow's performance are Over The Top.
Was Murder, She Wrote: A Question of Murder worth the listening time?
I am not finished with the entire book, but so far, it is definitely worth my time to listen to.

Classic Jessica fletcher story
This story takes place with a murder mystery theater … all the guests arrive and then of course things do not go as planned
It is an easy story… a simple twist .. very similar to the tv show she portrayed.
The narrator did a good job … while you won’t be in deep thought after this … if you are looking for a classic Jessica fletcher ( murder she wrote ) story I am sure you will enjoy this book
