Murder in an Irish Village: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!*

In the small village of Kilbane, County Cork, Ireland, Natalie's Bistro has always been warm and welcoming. Nowadays, 22-year-old Siobhan O'Sullivan runs the family bistro named for her mother, along with her five siblings, after the death of their parents in a car crash almost a year ago. It's been a rough year for the O'Sullivans, but it's about to get rougher.

One morning, as they're opening the bistro, they discover a man seated at a table with a pair of hot pink barber scissors protruding from his chest. With the local garda suspecting the O'Sullivans, and their business in danger of being shunned. It's up to feisty redheaded Siobhan to solve the crime and save her beloved brood.

*Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Music?

There was background music playing continuously during the reading. It was very irritating and I finally had to stop listening. The stores may have been very good but couldn’t stand listening long enough to find out.

background music

Background music is nearly constant and super distracting. I couldn't get past it...no go for me.

Couldn’t get past the music playing

I was originally so happy to get this book that takes place in a small town in Ireland. Unfortunately they placed this lovely story with a background of music playing the entire time. At first it was just mildly distracting but soon grew to be too much of a distraction. BAD IDEA
It became very difficult to concentrate on either art form the written word or the music.

I just could not get into this story!

I have tried to listen to this twice. I just don't care about the characters. Perhaps I will try it again someday but I can't recommend it.

Loved the story...

...and the narration, but found the background music distracting. I would rather not have it

A bit boring.

Too many lame concussions just for the sake of length. Well portrayed Irish town life but a bit sticky.
entertaining at times, really boring and senseless at others.

Irish Village is a delight!

If you are looking for a book that is not filled with sex and gore and filth, but is still tantalizing in its story-line, this is for you. The mystery of “who-dun-it” is well spun and leaves you waiting for the page to turn. You run with the main character from one hunch to the next - and there are wonderful sound effects spun through. There is even the tease of romance. Lastly, the lilt of the Irish brogue in the voice of the reader makes you feel that you are lying on your back in the lush green Irish grass reading the book. I loved it.
