Publisher's Summary

"A powerful message for all of us. I was hypnotized by the simple truths and spiritual lessons. Read it and tell everyone you know to do the same." (Wayne Dyer)

This incredible adventure story - and New York Times best seller - offers us an opportunity to discover the wisdom of an ancient culture and to hear its powerful message.

An American woman is summoned by a remote tribe of nomadic Aboriginals who call themselves the “Real People” to accompany them on a four-month-long walkabout through the Outback. While traveling barefoot with them through 1,400 miles of rugged desert terrain, she learns a new way of life, including their methods of healing, based on the wisdom of their 50,000-year-old culture. Ultimately, she experiences a dramatic personal transformation.

Mutant Message Down Under recounts a unique, timely, and powerful life-enhancing message for all humankind: It is not too late to save our world from destruction if we realize that all living things - be they plants, animals, or human beings - are part of the same universal oneness. If we heed the message, our lives, like the lives of the Real People, can be filled with this great sense of purpose.

Fake

Disappointing. I have done some research and found out it was fake. Australia is not pleased with you Marlo. Don't waste your time and money.

A fake story that dehumanizes aboriginals

Couldn't finish, the language used is so dehumanizing to all the aboriginals in the story, focusing on their bodies so closely without any reference to them as human beings. This story was written by someone who has never spent time in the outback, let alone with aboriginal people. All the references to ceremonies are not ones aboriginals have ever done, but instead a bastardized version of Native American ceremonies.

Disappointed

I can understand the controversy surrounding the author’s story. Something felt off, I found it lacking. I know people who love this book however I was left disappointed. There’s the universal message of connection to self, nature, and each other which is of course great. Yet a lot of her story seemed forced, she even admitted years ago the book is mostly fabrications. The natives boycotted this book and want it banned. Why would she write “they told me I’m a messenger” if they themselves don’t believe her story? Lastly, the performers voice didn’t work for this story.

Mutant Message

This is a great story and tale. My opinion of the narrator is that her voice is whining and sounds a little condescending for this tale

eye opening

It's so easy to see what she is talking about. I was brought into a totally different world, yet one we live and do not live in. It opened my eyes along a path I have been searching for. life can be so simple, why do we try to make it so difficult in the Western world.
