Publisher's Summary

Poor Janet and her fifty shades of beige. At least her inner voice, the sensational Lady Miss Jacqueline, is coming out in an outrageously funny short story about magic, courage, and - oh honey - the wigs!

Janet Williams is practically invisible. If only she had the pluck to speak up at work, flirt with the handsome barista she sees every day, and realize how special she is. When a magical wig offers Janet a chance to shake things up, will she dare to try a bold new style? The voice in her head - flashy and fierce, with an unbridled southern drawl - tells her to go for it. And once she does, there’s no turning back.

My Dear Friend Janet by Keke Palmer with Jasmine Guillory is part of Southern Belle Insults, a fiercely funny series of short stories set in the fully realized world of Keke’s viral phenomenon. Take Lady Miss Jacqueline’s advice: read or listen to them at once, without stopping, the whole way through. You’re welcome.

Short & cute

Keke did an excellent job narrating. I love when narrators use different voices for each character in a story. I can relate with Janet to a certain extent. I, too sometimes feel like I have another version of me trapped under my introverted self. I really enjoyed this short story.

Very Very Entertaining

This series is so amazing. It would be really cool if it was an actual TV series listening to on audible is very entertaining and if you read the book and I'm pretty sure you put your own voices to the characters which is super fun but I would love to see this played out on the television the television because the way she interprets the characters is so amazing it's funny the sly comments is really cool and it's very tasteful I am truly enjoyed this book.

Dazzling

The story of Janet, as told by her alter ego Miss Jacqueline, is marvelous as I cannot wait for the next installment. The story is a bit slow at the start but picks up and ends us with a cliffhanger that makes me want to listen to next story.

1st, this is short so easily "read" (heard).... lunch break entertainment.
Content is highly entertaining and fresh... relative to today and yesterday's nuances. I love the voices! They bring the characters to life in a real way...I can see this transitioning into a TV show. You go Keke!
Finally, this unfolding keeps you eager and expectant of the next one.... I've already got the next one in queue! 🤗
