Publisher's Summary

I accidentally ended up in this dimension. I had nothing. I knew no one. I barely survived the journey but landed in the best possible place; an ancient society of vampire hunters with the medical means to put me back together. I can't go home, but I can use the extra-abilities I gained from slipping dimensions to work for Black Swan and try to keep my friends alive.

When it comes to love, I have options. The knight who saved my life is strength and honor personified. The sexy elf who thinks I'm his mate. And an incredibly attractive 600-year-old vampire. My name is Elora Laiken. This is my story.

Contains mature themes.

A whole new world... buy this book!!

One of the FB Reader's groups I belong to recommended this book (whoever you are, thanks so very much). Victoria Danann is an awesome author and I'm in the process of trying to read/listen to every one of her books (several series, but especially Witches of Wimberly, & Sanctuary Motorcycle club set in Austin). But this book is the foundation for my love for the Black Swan world and all the related books which follow. One of Danann's talents, and something I really love in my books) is the appearance of characters from previous books in later related series. There are at least 12 books in this series, and probably about 3-5 off shoot books, all of which are worth a read or listen.

However, this book is just marvelous. Great characters, which are more fully developed in later books in the series, and minimal whining. The main character, Elora, is smart, strong, resilient (and beautiful)... a model for what many writers about women should strive for, vs some of the whiny weak characters in other series (grrrr). Elora is dumped into another world, one where knights risk their lives to kill vampires (bad ones) and it's populated with elves, humans, fae, werewolves, and a variety of other rare and unusual beings with the occasional demon and angel hanging around. A better adult version of a Potter type series. Some really terrific sex, and true love. This is her first entry into Audible, and I'm hoping eventually all of her books with be available. I love the Ram character's reader. Yummy. Buy this book.

Stormy Love Triangle

This book has it all! A fierce, dimension jumping heroine, vampire, elves, and an intense love triangle. Elora loses everything one night when invaders massacre her family. After being shoved into an inter-dimensional portal she wakes up, bloody and broken in a new yet almost familiar world. As she adapts to her new life with the Knights of the Black Swan she develops relationships with Storm and Ram. The slow building flirtation between her and Ram is contrasted with the fast friendship and loyalty she has with Storm. What if doing the right thing isn’t the right thing? We have so much to say about these beautifully written relationships you don’t want to miss this episode. And stay for the hilarious discussion of food play in the bedroom!

dimension traveling

this story wasn't what I expected. I think I was looking for something more paranormal and this story in my opinion is a cross between sci fi and dimensional time travel. well written, creative but not my thing.

Read Only

I can only hope that if someone was narrating, this book wouldn't have been so slow. Painful to listen to, probably should have read it myself.

What an amazingly wonderful story

A definite repeat. I kept putting this story off on my wish list, thinking it was not going to keep my interest. But I was sooo wrong. I could not put it down. The characters were fantastic. The story line was so good. It is so worth listening or readind. I bought the audio book because when the narrative is good it make the book come to life. It was a little hard for me to like the narrator in the beginning, because he seemed too bland in reading, but the story was so, so good I got past it. Will definitely continue to the next in this series.

Great story and narration

I love this book and series. Great story and writing. The world that Victoria Danann has created with the Knights of Black Swan is unparalleled. So many great characters. I love Elora, Ram and all members of B team.

I don't listen to a lot of audio books but was so glad I chose this one. The narrator was awesome and really brought the characters and story to life. I hope he does more in this series.

This is one of my favorite go to books for a re-read.
I highly recommend this book and series.

A must listen. Twisty and Turney.

Loved the story, the whole thing. The scary, the bad the good. I didn't see the ending coming. Nice writing keeps you on your toes. I will look for more books by Victoria Danann.
Gary Furlong is wonderful to listen to. The timbre of his voices and accents is a pleasure.

If this preceeded IAD it would have been Good

I bought this audio book to try out other authors of the same genre. Regretfully it did not live up to par like immortals after dark by Kresley Cole. it felt bland in comparison. the narrator was OK but again I could not help but compare him to Robert Petkof narration. Petkof is master in his art. however to be fair it was a good story line of the paranormal with cliff hangers about other characters like Baka the vampire and Storm broken heart...
