Publisher's Summary

Uh, I always hate doing introductions. Let's see...I'm Mark from Pensacola, a sprawling town in Florida. Don't judge me too harshly. There are plenty of decent jobs, cheap rent, and affordable schooling. I work at Pete's Pancake's, loving the night shift. Well, one evening, a mysterious woman comes into the diner, dripping blood from a cut on her hand. She's not drunk like the usual ones, she's wearing cosplay with pockets, and she leaves an odd spark coursing through me when I bandage her wound. After returning to visit me during my shifts for a full week, we build up a chemistry, only to have it vanish when she disappears.

To be honest, I put her behind me, finishing off my business degree and eager to finally get a daytime job just like my like parents hoped for. Slight problem, though; the same stunning woman stumbles up to my tiny apartment building without an invitation, showering my carpet in her blood. She swears she'll heal by morning, or I can take her to the hospital. Here's the craziest part: Magic knits her wound closed. When I plead for her to tell me what happened, I wished I never opened my mouth.

Really loved it

Han yang does really good on this series. I really liked it.
There is no harem elements in this book which is good.

Pros.
I want to clarify some because it doesn't say it in the blurb. The other world is basically completely switched, By that I mean females are the dominant gender. Plus the magic system is unique, it's not your basic system.
Now that that's done let's get into the other stuff.
First off I wish this book was longer, I feel like there's not enough time too really listen too this book and see if you like it, from what I've listened to I like this book. Another reason I wish it is longer is, he hasn't grown, at all. He's got some strength but not alot. The character progression in this series is not that good too say the least. The world building is better and I like the premise of this book. Han yang has such good ideas when it comes to books, and I love reading and listening to his series. The little bit of fighting in this book is good and I wish there was more of it. The best part of this book had to be the plot. The book is so short that i don't really have anything else too go on.
The characters are good and I like the Mc.
that's another thing I like about Hans writing, he doesn't write wimpy mcs or dumb mcs. if Han writes a book the Mc isn't gonna follow troupes or be wimpy. The Mcs gonna have a backbone and he's not gonna tell women all his secrets just because she's cute. Back on the plot. I feel like this story's plot is really good and could blossom too something that alot of people world like, paired with the good narrators this series is gonna be awesome. That's another subject, The narrators. There really good and I like them, there a good duo and I look forward too more of there books together.

Cons.
The books is way too short. it need to be longer, I feel like its not worth the credit for how short It is. It is worth the money tho, But that's only with how short the book is. I feel like with all the other strengths this book has its way worth the credit. There's also not alot of fighting, in a fantasy story where fighting is common you'd expect more than what is showed to us. There is really no character progression. Other than that I really have no other complaints or cons.

This book is really good and I'll think alot of people will like it. Han yang gave us another good series and I can't wait for book 2.

decent concept crappy main character

the story was good. the problem was with the main character was completely useless simp of all simps crying about dirt in the wrong moments. you don't have to go full throttle the other direction to not be an over aggressive jerk. I understand not being a warrior and being weak but being a crybaby at the same moment is pathetic. there are 5-year-olds with more balls than this guy

Role Reversal Meets Cultivation.

This is a quick pacing story that starts with "meeting that girl at the bar (pancake house)" to beginning a quest that may save the world from an epic cataclysm.

Maddox and Richardson do a really good job as narrators. Their range and the subtle emotions they bring to even the smallest dialogue is what makes them a lot better than average.

The story, while unexpected, was nonetheless entertaining. The main character finds himself in a situation that's difficult in more was than one as his very existence may be a threat to everyone.

Due to the pacing, the story can feel linear at times, but the narrators keep the entire audiobook enjoyable from start to finish.

Yes, it's worth your time and money

in my experience a little bit of context goes a long way. First and foremost, I always take it easy on the first and last book of any series. First can be inherently shaky endeavors and not every story makes it to “The End.” Next, I try and refrain from talking about the second half of any book I'm leaving a review on in an attempt to avoid spoilers. With those caveats out of the way on to the review. So, the story starts out fairly similar to others in this type of genre. We've got a mediocre MC working towards this bachelor’s in business while working at a pancake shop, when he ends up meeting a strange yet alluring lady who appears to be road weary and slightly bloody. after patching her up something of a friendly relationship starts that continues over the course of several weeks. Eventually as the story progresses things accelerate to the extreme. you see like it says in the title the lady is a sorceress and apparently by touching her she activates his latent power. But the weirdness does not stop there because it turns out that she is from another world that is the twin of our own but apparently it is like looking through a funhouse mirror. You see, her world is a matriarchal society where like something out of the old school space stories or even as recent as next generation there is a whole planet of women with Amazonian type characteristics and men are treated in a traditional female role. How are young hero finds himself mixed up with his own government and a bid to keep this secret. After having been roughed up and given a second chance at life considering that as far as they're concerned, he doesn't know anything he's chucked through the portal to this new world. Lo and behold he finds that he is grown where it matters and then he looks at the horse and realizes Nope he shrunk everywhere except for where it matters. This author in my opinion is a fantastic writer, and the story definitely hooks you early and keeps you entertained throughout. If for some reason you don't like the story, I imagine that the major drawback is that the women don't shave their armpits and not because the story is not a good one. It is likely my humor is not going to do well in text form but that is the only drawback that I can see for why you wouldn't give this story a shot. Like I said the MC unlike the other gentleman on this new world has magic which gives him an edge. One more thing which is the narrators who did a fantastic job in performing the story. Basically, like I've titled this review I enjoyed the story and I do think it's worth your time and money.

Innovative storyline

I appreciated the innovative storyline in regards to the other world being a matriarchy. I enjoyed the romance between the two characters. My only complaint is that the story kinda turned into an anime at the last 30 mins. Some people will no doubt enjoy that but it was a bit too mustache twirly for me.

Could not finish!

So I have read a lot of harem fantasy over the past few years and this is going into a self of interesting ideas, magic and world but terrible execution.

I understand authors sometimes unveil their personal thoughts on matters and emotions but this whole book was just awful! From the description of women to the the conflicting personality of what a “Man” should be it just pissed me off more.

I have read books that are just straight erotic fantasy with a spice of misogyny. But again this just made me mad because I could get past on why this author was telling a story this way? Why have women be strong and “reverse” of the typical system in you made up fantasy world only to instantly and constantly complain about it?!? It doesn’t make sense. Why have a MC female lead be annoying and bossy but later have the MC fall for her instantly?

Long story short the narration of this story is well done the rest of this book was just confusing and not at all interesting. Don’t waist your time if your hoping like me the author was writing a book you might like.

I personally will never read anymore or recommend his books. This was just far too bad for me to let go.

interesting concept but poorly written

an interesting and fun concept but unfortunately was terribly written this seemed like a first draft of some high school kid and to top it off it's very short so everything felt very rushed.

Pretty good

It's a slow build series that has a lot of potential. Can't wait for the next installment so I can continue the story.
