Publisher's Summary

Two siblings, both missing for 20 years turn up within one day of each other. One dead. One alive.

It was an ordinary school day, the day I lost my little brother.

One moment he was on the roundabout and then was gone. Gone. Missing.

They all blamed me. I was in charge. Even though I was only ten years old.

They sent me away. The hurt, the shame, the questions. The not knowing.

I tried to move on.

It’s been nineteen years in exile and now somebody wants me back.

Someone with a dark secret. They hold the keys, they know the truth.

So, I need to return to the Welsh village of my childhood to find out who, because I have a secret, too…

I did something bad.

Diane Saxon’s standalone thriller is sure to plunge you into the dark world of secrets and lies.

Good first chapter then dullsville

Then it was so boring. I wish I understood the positive reviews. Maybe I missed something but I was so bored I abandoned it after 15 chapters and getting through that much was a slog. I hope other people enjoy it more than I did.

No

This is one of the ones I call ridiculous. It makes little sense at times and will repeat the same sentence a couple minutes later.

This could have been done in less time than it was. Long boring parts. Then the ending... ridiculous. The reasoning at the end doesn't make sense, it's extreme compared to death.

Fair play ….. I didn’t guess the plot

chwarae teg .... wnes i ddim dyfalu'r plot.

The red herrings did the trick I didn’t see that coming.

An excellent listen.

A refreshing new style for this stand alone story.

Looking forward to the next one already.

Keep up the good work Diane.

Fantastic

This book was completely different from the Jenna Morgan books but equally as good if not better. I loved the characters and how they all came to life and the narrator was brilliant with the characters voices and personalities. The ending was a shock but brilliant! What a surprise. Absolutely loved this book

Good story - frustrating at times

Bit slow to get going but a good story.
Not overly complicated but this makes it easy to follow. Some of the characters are frustrating and why the village blames a ten year old for so long is a bit bizarre but kind of makes sense in the context of the village we learn about.

This story totally engrossed me

I’ve read all of Diane Saxons’ books or rather listened with Audible. This is her finest without a doubt. The forensic description of the mundane things we all do is breathtaking, 20 mins of the tiny things we all do when entering an hotel room before going for a shower may sound boring but in fact gives a reality we all share. And that’s her secret, she taps into a reality we all share, things we all do. And if I may add from personal experience the strange hostile experience of being in a close welsh community as a visitor was somewhat accurate and and disconcerting.
This tale unraveled at a steady pace and the twist was something I hadn’t anticipated, as a long haul trucker I have the privilege of listening over a two day driving period so don’t have to break it up so can stay very close to the characters and the plot.
You won’t be disappointed with Diane’s latest book, I certainly wasn’t!

Another brilliant book by Diane Saxon

I loved "my little brother". I was so excited to hear Diane was bringing out another Crime thriller. And this book didn't disappoint. The story never dragged on and I enjoyed thoroughly from start to finish.
