Publisher's Summary

Once, they shared one soul. Can hope heal years of despair and broken dreams?

Music is all I know. It saved me as a kid. It brings me fame and fortune now. But what am I, the famous Gage Rodin, doing at night when I’m on the road and can’t sleep googling her?

Tess Hades, the girl who still haunts my dreams and my lyrics. She arrived like a quiet storm, a wild thing with eyes guarded to the world. But she let me into the deep end of her beautifully broken soul. When we were together, life was simple. When my life got complicated, she did what she thought was the right thing, she let me go.

While she’s been out saving the wild creatures of the world, my muse has fed on the memory of our life together. But now everything in my world is shifting again, and not in a good way. I’m not certain I have the strength to bear another devastating loss, so I find myself reaching for something as rare and elusive as the perfect song lyric, the one woman who never gave up hope....

AMAZING!

This book was an excellent follow up to the previous book!! This book is the daughter of the main character from the pervious book.

Tess is that character you want to hug and jist give her all the love. She has had her fair share of heartache from someone who should have loved her the most. But to see her really grow in this book is amazing!

Gage is the man that you want by your side. He is so very loyal and loving, you will not be able to get enough of him! But to see him rise from the bottom and make it to the top is something special!

Their story is heartbreaking at times, but the love they share is so true.

The audio of this book is the best! Jason and Emma bring this book to life with so many emotions!

Angsty and Bautiful

This one hurt in a good way, and the performers made me feel it so much more. The story by Claudia Burgoa had so much angst but she made Tess and Gage’s journey worth all the bumps and roadblocks that lay ahead of them. Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke brought the story to life and made me feel like I was there seeing their story unfold. Bravo!

Captivating and Emotional Romance!

OMG! What a beautiful, heart-wrenching, extraordinary story of second chances. We first met Tess Hades in the first book, My One Regret. She was a young, confused girl, torn between loving her father, and being afraid of losing her manipulative mother. Now she is older and wiser, and living in a stable, loving home with her famous father, Kaden Hades. Gage Rodin is a struggling musician, working as a teacher, deliveryman, and bartender. Tess' meet cute with Gage while he was bartending was funny, and charming, and a delightful story arc that comes back up throughout the book. When Tess and Gage keep crossing paths, Kaden takes the struggling and talented musician under his wing. Gage wants Tess with or without her fathers help. Tess knows this, but wants to keep her distance, knowing the pitfalls of living a rockstar life. But Gage knows what he wants, and will do whatever it takes to prove his love, and commitment to her. Tess is smart, loving and has plans for her life out of the spotlight. As she works toward her goals, so does Gage, and it takes them in so many directions. They work hard to keep connected, and always find ways to be together. When it looks like they might finally have it all, the unimaginable happens, destroying all their dreams, and breaking their hearts. It takes years of them watching each other from afar, for an opportunity to presents itself. When it does, Gage knows it's time, and will do what it takes to right past wrongs, and convince a stubborn Tess that they were always meant to be together. Gage is so sweet, thoughtful, sexy, and he totally made me swoon. I really fell in love with both Tess and Gage right from the start, even though they frustrated me at times. They were so good for each other, supporting and challenging each other. I love that Ms. Burgoa takes her time developing Tess, Gage, and their complex relationship, making their growth, and epic love feel solid, authentic and unbreakable. She expertly weaves a multilayered tale that will make you feel every emotion and capture your heart. I also always love that she works in a connection with the Deckers and our favorite security team. The thrilling twist at the end had me stunned. The epilogue was sweet but it ended way too soon, I wanted more!
Both Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke added so much depth to these characters as they narrate this breathtaking romance, and brought it to life so clearly. The way they developed Tess and Gage's dynamic relationship, making me feel all the angst, heartbreak, hope, and passion they felt was brilliant. I was completely captivated by their performance.
This beautiful, passionate and poignant love story will rock you and take you on an emotional journey that will leave you breathless and totally satisfied!

Great story and narration

Having read a number of books by Claudia Burgoa, I was excited to listen to My One Desire narrated by Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder who certainly did justice to this emotional roller coaster of a listen.
My One Desire ticked all the boxes for me as we are drawn into rock star Gage Rodin and Tess Hades love story told over a period of ten years. My emotion s were all over the place as the story progressed.
It is obvious that Gage and Tess are two halves of a whole but life has a way of interferring and after years together they are parted by circumstances beyond control. Both Jason and Emma did justice to the emotional turmoil that impacted the characters and my heart broke for the pain and suffering that they went through.
Can Gage and Tess come to terms with the decisions of the past, make piece and move forward together? One click and find out.

Awesome

I enjoyed listening to Gage and Tess' story. I called Gage some unflattering names because of what he did to break her heart. I was completely surprised by the shocking details of the choices he made. Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder are incredibly talented narrators.

Emotional Second Chance Romance!

Cue the tears, chills, and happy sighs! Every time I listen to a Claudia Burgoa book, I try to prepare myself for the emotional journey my heart is about to go on. My One Desire was a second-chance rockstar age gap romance that brought angst, passion, heartache, and of course love. Gage and Tess's road to HEA spans a few years and is filled with various challenges to overcome, but in the end, true love really does conquer all.

Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder narrate this audiobook, and WOAH did these two deliver all the feels! Jason's performance of dedicated and dreamy Gage Rodin, a rockstar in the making, was wholly breathtaking and moving. Jason also conveyed Gage's frustrated and conflicted persona perfectly as well. Emma was fantastic as Tess Hades, an aspiring marine biologist, portraying her loving, caring, and determined personality! Emma's performance also made me empathize with Tess and root for her to find her own happiness!

Overall, I loved this audiobook! If you are a fan of a second chance romance with a charismatic redeeming rockstar, a passionate marine biologist, a budding relationship told in flashbacks, fake IDs for dirty martinis, coffee orders, a famous rockstar dad, saving the turtles, visiting the narwhals, a supportive sister, unexpected heartache, a sweet little pumpkin named JoJo, healing from past mistakes, concerts, love songs, and a HEA that proves true love can mend a broken heart, then you will love Tess and Gage's story. I always look forward to more from Claudia Burgoa.

Amazing Story & Narration🎧 Gripping & Emotional!

Claudia Burgoa blows me away with another amazing romance novel set in her “My One” series and I loved this one just as much as I loved the first book, “My One Regret”. This beautifully written story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it straight to the end, it also tugged on my heartstrings too. I adored the two lead characters, well, until one pissed me off, but that character redeems themselves in the end. This book is Tess Hades and Gage Rodin’s story, Tess appears in the first book, she is Kaden’s daughter and it was great to see her again and how much she grew as a person, her biological mother used and abused her, psychologically. She is now following her dreams, studying marine wildlife, working on getting her PhD and then hoping to make a difference in the world. She was not planning on meeting anyone, never mind getting involved with him, but Gage Rodin was persistent and never gave up on her. Gage an aspiring musician who lost his band, is working several jobs, including teaching music, a barista and a bartender. When he first met Tess he was taken by her and he predicted she will be his one day but she had things to do first, like go away to college. He had not known who her father was and when he found out he did not want her to think he was interested in her for that reason, but she finds out his love for music and hooks him up with an audition for her father without his knowledge. Gage impressed Kaden with his talent and offered to mentor him, which helped push start his career in the music industry. He and Tess continued their friendship until it finally morphed into more and they had their life all planned out, that was until it all changed, Gage practically ghosted her and then broke her heart with no explanation, which broke my heart too. It took Tess almost six years to learn Gage’s reason for what he did, but is that reason enough for her to forgive him for what he did? Claudia Burgoa is evil, she had me thinking the worst of Gage but turns out he thought he was doing the right thing just went about it the wrong way, though it was probably the only way. This wonderfully plotted story has the perfect balance of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, a heartbreaking twist and a slow burn romance. I loved how everything turned out for Gage and Tess, despite their separation, their love never died and neither moved on. Claudia Burgoa, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke did an amazing job bringing these characters to life, humanizing them, giving each their own distinct voice and personality. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Emma Wilder played Tess’ role with perfection, captured her every emotion and had you feeling every single one, Jason Clarke did the same for Gage and both were great performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. These talented narrators and a versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen.
