Not for young audiences

I’m not sure if other parents listened to this with their children, but my wife and I were pretty horrified at some of the stories. One in particular involves the child learning that their parent had actually kidnapped them when they were a baby and the kidnapper ends up in jail. Maybe this might be ok for older kids 7-10 age, but some of the other ratings were saying 5 year olds and we bought this based on those ratings. Not happy with this purchase.

Less than stellar writing

I don't expect a lot from these kinds of books, but I had such a hard time listening to this with my son. The tense shifts alone were enough to make me want to turn it off. The narration was ok. The content of the stories was Meh. Not worth the credit spent.

Boring stories, robot-like narration

Halfway through the first story the eight year old I was listening to this with fell asleep.
And reading some of the reviews, people are mentioning Dean Koontz and horror short stories?!
Amazon has gotten it's review wires crossed somewhere.

Dark

I found the subject matter too dark for my children (9 and 5). Kidnapping, severe fright, parents killed, etc. It may be more suitable to an older audience? But I was expecting light mystery solving, not dark criminal stories.

THIS BOOK SO INFORMATIVE

I picked this guide from Amazon. The Author especially made it. It would have gone earnestly with him by then, had not a tailor happened to voyage by. He was a generous-hearted individual, and immediately took out his needle and string and began to fix the deviousness.

Disappointing

Could have been interesting but ultimately Unconvincing - there was no real interaction between story and listener and the story lines were clumsy.
Our 10 year old thought the first story was so bad he didn’t want to continue so we downloaded some Roald Dahl and had a much better listen on our car journey.

Excellent interpretation

This piece is a wonderful dramatization if the jungle book. Its vivid imagery is faithfully portrayed by a host of well-known names to perfection. It was a book I didn’t want to put down, and would highly recommend.
