Not for young audiences

I’m not sure if other parents listened to this with their children, but my wife and I were pretty horrified at some of the stories. One in particular involves the child learning that their parent had actually kidnapped them when they were a baby and the kidnapper ends up in jail. Maybe this might be ok for older kids 7-10 age, but some of the other ratings were saying 5 year olds and we bought this based on those ratings. Not happy with this purchase.

My daughter is only 5 years old.

My daughter is only 5 years old and when I listen to her she is more interested in her toes but I know she will love these stories before bedtime when she is a little older.

Great for my 6 year old and 4 year old

Really great narrator, and my daughter states “this was the best book ever.” She loved listening to each story and waiting to find out what the mystery to come was! We started this as something to listen to in the car and it became her quiet time activity.

Boring stories, robot-like narration

Halfway through the first story the eight year old I was listening to this with fell asleep.
And reading some of the reviews, people are mentioning Dean Koontz and horror short stories?!
Amazon has gotten it's review wires crossed somewhere.

Holmes and Watson always a great read!

Edward Hardwicke narrated this book. He played Watson to Jeremy Brett's Holmes in the 1980 series on PBS. Reading or listening the wonderful duo have always been a favorite.

Excellent interpretation

This piece is a wonderful dramatization if the jungle book. Its vivid imagery is faithfully portrayed by a host of well-known names to perfection. It was a book I didn’t want to put down, and would highly recommend.

Awesome

The language is dynamic enough that I feel she is learning but she can still comprehend generally what’s going on. Easy listening for parents too. Not squeaky or annoying.

Great for my adventurous and inquisitive child!

I've been trying various series but none have really hooked my active child, until this one. The adventures she has after she listens are spectacular. This is what makes and keeps dedicated readers for life.

Great for little kids

I think this book is good for kids ages 3-11. The best book is probably missing ice cream.
