Idk...

so I really love the narrator and the storyline is good but could be better. it feels rushed and unfinished there are lines of plot that aren't followed through and I have to admit, in love lasgol is more of a girl than the girls. I really like the story line but this feels like more of an unfinished rough draft than a published work. and that makes me sad. I thought it might improve, but not really. I don't think I'll get the next one despite my deep desire to know the end.

Great Job

Pedro is an amazing author. Goes to show who he trusted to narrate an the adventures of the Snow Panthers. It’s so good. John Banks did phenomenal job with narrating. Worth all the money.

I like this series because it’s not all butterflies and goodness, a perfect combination of forces.

not bad

so I'm going to talk about the best thing about this book and indeed the entire series first. that would be the narrator. I have thoroughly enjoyed his performance and I seriously have no notes for how he might improve. I definitely look forward to the next installment for that alone. now as far as the writing goes when it comes to us sequel I'm looking for everything that made the last one worth listening to and then some. while this entry did progress the story it did not really excel at anything. oh there was an amazing battle towards the end of the story and we've got plenty of set up for political Intrigue in the future and I don't want to call it straight filler because that would be a gross understatement but it did to me at least feel more like set up than story. that may be an unfair assessment of the work. to that I will simply say that this is my personal opinion and it is based off of my personal preference. the series appears to be wildly popular and there are 14 available on Audible and it looks like the 16th one is coming out on Amazon relatively soon. the first book in my opinion was extremely shaky but I tend to take it easy on the first book for that very reason. My Hope was that the story would continue to get better as it progressed. in my opinion it has done that. in my opinion I wish it had been more but I do think that this book specifically has reached the point where I'm interested in continuing on with the series. I have invested time and treasure into three books and I'd still like to see where the story goes but this is kind of a lukewarm review I guess. that being said I do not want to penalize any author ever based on my personal views so I still ranked it high. for those of you who are not aware Amazon's ranking system is brutal. to that end you can do real damage to creatives if you give them less than four stars. so if there is anybody reading this review didn't like it then I would counsel you to not go below four stars because that's just mean.

Tedious, Juvenile, fragmented, and inconsistent.

The first book was OK, the second book tolerable, but this one I could no finish.
The story is slow moving with an inconsistent and scattered plot line.
Many sections are just space/time fillers with no real input the story line.
Characters are supposed to be advance students in a highly skilled and dangerous carrier path yet they have constant petty bickering and childish fights within their team.
Then there is this baby dragon like creature that comes and goes as convent to the story.
The only bright spot is that the reader is good.

Fascinating and interesting!

I have listened to the first 3 books so far. They are fascinating and the story line is so interesting. I really like the bit of magic in the story. Although Vigo's attitude gets a little tiresome, it seems to work well in the story with all the other characters!! It is nice to have a clean story!!

development flaws

love the series. but key world building is being left out... making the fantasy more unbelievable. Great overall story! but reads more like a rough draft, not a polished piece.

also, in this 3rd book Olf ( heros old caretaker) acts out of character. this really really bugs me!! all along he's been a faithful veteran of the kings army. when Darthor shows up at Lasgol's home to fetch him, Olf simply accepts Lasgol's word that its alllll okay and let's him leave. This whole interaction happens with 3 token sentences from Olf, then suddenly we jump to 10 days later. And just like that, my 2nd favorite character, Olf, had acted so completely out of character that he is no longer believable/real in my mind. I thought maybe the author would circle back, but nope. completely unbelievable character development.

this is my least favorite book in the series so far. it felt rushed. in my opinion lacked key world building and character development in order to push through action scenes. in a world of intrigue, mystery, magic and betrayal there are WAY to many instances of characters accepting this at face value or trusting each other without the proper building of relationships. and ofcourse they all stay friends and never betray one another. *rolls eyes*

in the types of adventures they all go through there is a NATURAL level of trauma, hurt & healing these confidants should being going through to tighten their bonds of friendship. but this element is missing, instead the author jumps straight to the next adventure. overall, this book had a creative plot with potential, but D+ in the way he executes it. I will read book 4.... if the series continues to go downhill I will stop.

Amazing narration by the way!!

Repetitive

Almost every minute of this book, I was wondering why I was doing this to myself. While the story itself is interesting and I'm really curious what happens next, the writing itself is so horrible I'm not going to contine. A lot of the same scenes as the last two books, crappy dialogue, and characters I still don't like even 3 books in.

I CAN'T TAKE IT ANY MORE...

I'm about 3 hours in and I CAN'T TAKE IT ANY MORE... I find it so INCREDIBLY frustrating that 3 years in they still don't trust each other, complete mistrust of magic and of Camo even though he's never done anything bad, quite the opposite, saving their lives and generally helping them. I also find it really frustrating that the main group of characters should be aged around 19 yet they have the maturity of 13-year-olds, is this the target audience? Whatever case, I'm far older than that and it's an aspect of this series that continues to bug me and combined with the above reasons, I'm not going to listen any longer. Normally I would have complained that these books were far too short for the $15 cost but this time its all too long. I suggest giving it a miss unless you are a young teen yourself however even then I would suggest these characters are emotionally poor role models.

a good book but with 2 steps back

still an interesting book and more for me to enjoy however there were a few things I was not to happy with in the first book they made a big deal about no more secrets and how they had tell share everything about themselves and since the MC held back about his magic they hated him and it yet in this book its clear that most of the team are hiding secrets but it ok for them they even said as much which it's a big WTF moment also you would think by now 3 years in that the other would be more use to magic when it comes to their friend but no they have not grown an become Venomous apart from those two faults everything great and I'm moving straight onto the next book with no breaks

Poorly written, a mess!

Struggled to finish it, the story is very frustrating. The characters are poorly written. The first book was promising and so I kept torturing myself in the hopes of it getting better, but I will stop here.
