Publisher's Summary

Still struggling from the effects of an abusive relationship?

Many people do and sadly there is very little information available to be found online or in the written research, or with counsellors and therapists that can help. The Gaslight Effect is not officially recognized, nor is it widely even known.

Even when it is accepted, recognized and known not many people seem to know what to do about it to heal it.... The fact is being in a relationship with a narcissist over a long period of time has long lasting traumatic effects that can be extremely catastrophic to the person suffering them.

But first, a warning:

Before we go further, let me make something abundantly clear:

This book does not contain a "magic wand" that will bring you instant answers without having to do any work.

What I’m about to share with you takes both time and effort and has worked wonders for me and my private clients. And I believe it can help you too.

The exact process I’ll be sharing with you has taken several of my clients from a state of frustration and feeling "stuck", to crystal clarity as to what they should do.

But this only works for those who are willing look deep inside themselves and are committed to finding true happiness.

So with that said, let me tell you....

Do the following symptoms sound familiar?

  • Doubting yourself and your sanity
  • Feeling like you’re losing your mind
  • Feeling like you’re always apologizing
  • You’re second-guessing your memory
  • Feeling like you aren’t good enough

  • Feeling lonely
  • Ruined self confidence
  • Extreme weight loss or weight gain
  • Uncharacteristic jealousy/ insecurity
  • Feeling like you don’t know the difference between right and wrong

  • Endless, repetitive obsessive thinking about your ex
  • Constantly trying to find explanations for what has happened

Highly recommend this book

My mother is a malignant narcissist, straight up. I think the determining characteristic might be profound vindictiveness. When my 60-year-old mother is 'offended' she becomes extremely vicious and vindictive. At that time, I had been a nurse for 17 years and in one evening she destroyed my career by calling the police and making up a story that I hit her. I was subsequently arrested for domestic violence and lost my nursing administrative position. Went to NO contact 10 years ago and haven't looked back. RUN, do not walk from these people.

Not for me....

I did not complete this audiobook. I am learning about narcissistic abuse, and I didn't feel the approach was helpful. It seemed pretty doom and gloom in terms of recovery and the possible outcomes for victims. I have read other books that detailed the same information in a much more hopeful way. I was going to force myself to listen to the whole thing but decided the negativity isn't worth the possibility of it changing to be more encouraging and positive. Kind of like experiencing the narcissistic abuse, I don't want to hold on to hope that it will get better when it's already causing more stress.

Love this book.

Thank you for this book! My ex is a covert narcissist. This book helps me so much in understanding why he behaved the way he did and never cared about my feelings. Everything centers about him and all he ever wanted to speak about was him and his life and his struggles in Ph.D. and his this and that and it's always him him him him him.

This is a great

This book was so enlightening. For anyone who feels confused about why a relationship went downhill and feels somehow 100% accountable...read this book! Narcissists (specifically covert narcissists) are brilliant at manufacturing lies and half-truths that will reshape your reality and make themselves the victim. I wish this book had been around 21 years ago.

I highly recommend this book

I was in a long term relationship with a narcissist, maybe a sociopath. This book talks about narcissists, sociopaths, and psychopaths. It doesn't focus on telling the difference but rather how to recognize the abuse and how to get out. It's a great overview if you currently don't know much on the subject. I read this as my second book on narcissistic abuse and have recommended it to everyone that is in or just got out of an emotionally abusive relationship. It's a great starting place.

excellent listen

I found this book helpful in identifying the behaviors of narcissists. It was comforting to read some of the experiences I had were not unusual but par for the course for narcissists.

Very informative and useful.

This book came through one of my best friends. We are both survivors of toxic relationships with men with narcissistic personality disorder. I’m on a healing journey and this book provided some answers.

I really enjoyed this.

Really great book that goes through an extensive exploration of what a narcissist is, how they operate and tools to heal from their abuse, and how to grow from your experience and continue on your healing journey.

This audio book is amazing.

I know a woman very close to me who displays these certain traits that relate to PTSD because she was involved with a narcissist and also had a very very hard upbringing. Disassociation from father and mother, not because she wanted to but because they left her as a baby to be raised by her grandmother. I also found several traits and characteristics in there of myself but we are similar in some ways but not entirely the same and I guess that is why we get along so well. I would recommend this book to anyone just for discovering oneself all learning about someone else

started off good,

seems like it was written by so.eone with English as a second language after the first chapters. The words are not typically used in U.S. culture. it sounds off ans was hard to follow because of the distractions. I can't find anywhere what the authors doctorate degree is. Makes one wonder if she has any credentials.
