Story
Phil Kaye’s debut collection is a stunning tribute to growing up, and all of the challenges and celebrations of the passing of time, as jagged as it may be. Kaye takes the listener on a journey from a complex but iridescent childhood, drawing them into adolescence, and finally on to adulthood. There are first kisses, lost friendships, hair blowing in the wind while driving the vastness of an empty road, and the author in the middle, trying to make sense of it all. Date & Time is a welcoming story, which freezes the calendar and allows us all to live in our best moments.

Story
Lauded for the power of her writing and having attracted an online fan base of millions for her extraordinary spoken-word performances, Olivia Gatwood now weaves together her own coming-of-age with an investigation into our culture’s romanticization of violence against women. At times blistering and riotous, at times soulful and exuberant, Life of the Party explores the boundary between what is real and what is imagined in a life saturated with fear. Gatwood asks, How does a girl grow into a woman in a world racked by violence? Where is the line between perpetrator and victim?

Searing, soaring, and heartbreaking, If My Body Could Speak balances the softness of femininity with the sharpness that girls are forced to become.

Thought provoking and charming
Sarah kay never ceases to amaxe me, her spoken word poetry is one that i rarely see outside her and phil kaye's work. while most spoken word poets seek to shock with tales of violence, rape, politics, and mental disorder she manages to speak to one about the cycle of life that she first discocered at a public pool, or the way her teacher taught her how to listen to children like the future leaders they will be. sarah kay manages to make a city into a love poem without once ever having to try to shock her readers and leave them with many questions and reflections on themselves threw her words.

The Perfect Words for Everything You’ve Ever Felt
I cannot thank one of my office book club buddies enough for picking this little gem. In a word, it’s therapeutic. Sarah masterfully revives memories of experiences that we all had, but don’t quite remember how they made us feel. It’s not just love and loss, but your first sighting of a jellyfish. The sound of your favorite teacher’s voice. The first time you saw one of your parents cry. Combined with a performance that is the perfect mix warmth, wonder, and wisdom, her words capture the magic in even the most mundane moments of her life and make you realize how much magic you’ve overlooked in your own.

Great!!!
I've definitely been a fan of Sarah Kay for several years now and have always loved her poetry. Listening to her speak is always very soothing and I'm glad to have purchased this audiobook. While I do enjoy her live performances, I didn't like how it broke up the studio recordings of her poetry. Overall, it was still pretty fantastic!!
