Publisher's Summary

"Blade-sharp, whip-smart, and genuinely original — a thriller to refresh your faith in the genre, your belief that a story can still outpace and outsmart you." (AJ Finn, number one New York Times best-selling author of The Woman in The Window)

"Clever and surprising...The superb character-driven plot delivers an astonishing, believable jolt." (Publishers Weekly, starred review)

"Deserves two big thumbs up. Readers will be gripped by this astonishing story in which one gasp-inducing twist follows on the heels of another. A unique page-turner that just begs to be turned into a movie." (Booklist, starred review)

A smart, witty, crackling novel of psychological suspense in which a girl from a hardscrabble small town meets a gorgeous Instagram influencer from the big city, with a murderous twist that will shock even the most savvy listener.

On a beautiful October morning in rural Maine, a homicide investigator from the state police pulls into the hard-luck town of Copper Falls. The local junkyard is burning, and the town pariah Lizzie Oullette is dead — with her husband, Dwayne, nowhere to be found. As scandal ripples through the community, Detective Ian Bird’s inquiries unexpectedly lead him away from small-town Maine to a swank city townhouse several hours south. Adrienne Richards, blonde and fabulous social media influencer and wife of a disgraced billionaire, had been renting Lizzie’s tiny lake house as a country getaway…even though Copper Falls is anything but a resort town.

As Adrienne’s connection to the case becomes clear, so too does her connection to Lizzie, who narrates their story from beyond the grave. Each woman is desperately lonely in her own way, and they navigate a relationship that cuts across class boundaries: transactional, complicated, and, finally, deadly. A Gone Girl for the gig economy, this is a story of privilege, identity, and cunning, as two devious women from opposite worlds discover the dangers of coveting someone else’s life.

"...both amusingly satirical and darkly bloody." (The Washington Post)

Resourceful protagonist...

I just finished listening to this book and had to write something up about it. I thoroughly enjoyed NO ONE WILL MISS HER a will watch for new books being published by this author.
This is a very clever book. The publisher’s summary sets the plot up perfectly. It’s the story of a town pariah who shouldn’t be. I’ve lived in small towns for much of my life and unfortunately the scenario set up for the protagonist is all too real. Unless your roots are generational you will forever be the outsider. In this story that’s Lizzie. On top of being the outsider she’s poor.
There is some predictability and I did have the plot figured out about 1/2 way through. That did not detract from the book and I enjoyed finding out how it all would end.
The three narrators worked very well together. I actually purchased this book because Cassandra Campbell is one of the narrators and I really like her. She does the Miss Fortune books by Jana DeLeon.
This book is Very HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Don't waste a credit!

Characters were not well developed. Dragged on most of the time - hard to keep listening. FAR FETCHED does not even begin to describe the 'plot!' Just a bad, disappointing listen.

Really good

You figure out the plot a tad too early (perhaps more due to the summary than the writing). But it doesn’t matter. Great characters. Totally satisfying.

Great book!

I really hope Kat Rosenfield keeps writing adult fiction! Can’t really talk about the story without spoilers but as a long time fan of the murder mystery genre I found this to be absolutely wonderful

Exciting, well-written thriller

This was twisty and fun, sardonic and biting, about an obnoxious rich lady who gets embroiled in the life of the white trash family she and her white collar criminal husband rent a summer cottage from. Murder ensues. Then more murder!! I can’t say anything more or I’ll be spoiling the story!
