Publisher's Summary
Her bare feet stuck to the frost as she ran. She wanted to scream out loud, but she knew he’d find her if she made a noise. As she stopped to listen for his heavy footsteps, she wondered if she would ever make it out alive....
As funeral mourners stand in silence at Ragmullin cemetery, a deafening cry cuts through the air. Lying crumpled at the bottom of an open grave is the bloodied body of a young woman, and Detective Lottie Parker is called in to investigate.
Knowing the body can’t have been there long, Lottie wonders if it could be Elizabeth Bryne, a young woman who vanished without trace just days earlier. And with a new boss who seems to have it in for her, Lottie is under pressure to solve both cases quickly.
As two more women go missing from Ragmullin, Lottie and her team fear there is a serial killer on the loose. And the disappearances are strikingly similar to a cold case from 10 years earlier. Could history be repeating itself?
As journalists begin to interfere with Lottie’s investigation, she fears the killer is about to strike again. Lottie is in a race against time to find the missing women, but the killer is closer than she thinks. Could Lottie be his next target?
If you love Angela Marsons, Robert Bryndza, and Rachel Abbott, you'll love the latest pulse-pounding thriller from Patricia Gibney. No Safe Place will keep you guessing until the very last second.

Tired of Lottie Parker Being Treated like crap
Every book in this series depicted Lottie Parker as a meek little lady that everyone treated like crap. Seriously, why do writers insist on have strong female characters whose male bosses humiliate, degrade, and constantly threatens suspension, demotion, are being fired and every case is solved successfully by that same lowlife chief detective. I mean seriously, the main storylines are great and suspenseful but you disrespect your female audience when, in every novel you allow the heroine to be slammed and cursed for absolutely no reason.

Lottie, I'm Disappointed
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Only to faithful followers of the series
Would you recommend No Safe Place to your friends? Why or why not?
No. I had trouble relating to Lottie in this book, I doubt a reader new to the series would get through book four.
Was No Safe Place worth the listening time?
For the narration and the basic plot, yes.
Any additional comments?
Lottie, if we were friends I'd be sitting you down and telling you to shape up. Gone is the somewhat flawed but well-intentioned protagonist. You're wallowing in bad habits, making no attempt to move yourself forward. You're randomly rude and mean to other characters, coming off as abrasive and stubborn rather than independent. Please seek counselling from Ms. Gibney before Book Five comes out.

Almost missed this one
I previously listened to the other books in this series and while the stories were good I found the wreck of Lottie too hard to stomach. So I passed this one by for awhile. Thankfully, I decided to give Lottie one more chance...she's still a mess but it seems she may be turning a corner-slowly but hopefully for good.
But read the books in order, just grit your teeth while Lottie focuses so much on her lose that she essentially leaves her children to fend for years.

Good Enough to Keep Going
I am invested in this series. I did guess about half of the "twists" pretty early on, but with excellent narration, I'm going to press on. I do think Ms. Gibney could work on American syntax whenever she might use an American character- even if it's just for a short chapter.

Could not get through. boring narration
I love crime thrillers and when I was recommended this book by a fellow book lover as their book of the year I was excited.
unfortunately I just find the narrator so boring. As a result of the monotone reading I find that the pace is just not set right. I couldn't concentrate on the storyline. nothing seems exciting, interesting or gripping. I normally finish a crime thriller in 2-3 days but I've had this for 2 months and still struggling to get through it as I find it tedious.

You MUST start to read this series
I love the stories in this series so far . The twists , the well thought out plans , the relationship with Boyd , will they ,won't they ? The unbelievable whirlwind of a life Lottie lives. its absolute chaos , im exhausted just reading it.
l'm about to start the next book and i can't wait . It's hard to think about the fact that Lottie is a fictional character, l love her no nonsense approach to most things but her vulnerable side also
NOTE TO AUTHOR:
Please don't stop writing about Lottie and her life. I'm seriously hooked, I listen to it as I'm cleaning my house, shopping , walking , just about everywhere.
It "zens" me out . Sending you much love and now please go writing 😆 X

Ragmullen. Scary place
What a feckin dangerous place Ragmullen is. I don’t think it would be a great place to bring up your kids but it would be exciting. Love the colloquialisms. The author captures the Irish spirit. When do we get book 5?

Love Lottie Series
Had a little struggle keeping up with some of the characters related to the plot in the story.
