Publisher's Summary

I was once told that the woman you have to work the hardest for would be the one worth working for by far - and Taylor Mathews has turned the expression into a mantra for me. Here I am, Maclain Stone, centering my very existence on the woman. She’s quickly become my obsession, and my reason for trying to be a better human - though trust me when I say that may never happen.

But I’m going to try. For her.

The fight...

But fate may have the last laugh. Years of living in the fast lane, literally and figuratively, are catching up with me as I fight to downshift into a lower gear and win the right to commit to this incredible woman who has tumbled into my life.

The favor...

I’m ready for the change, but is she? So far, she’s rejected every offer I’ve made and shut every door in my face. If she won’t admit her feelings to herself, how can she commit to me?

Incredible story!

Woah. Hot dang... this book was incredible! So much drama, so much heat! Gah!! 5-I-Wish-I-Could-Rate-It-Higher-Stars!
I completely adore Mac and Taylor!

Taylor and Mac meet when Taylor’s friend goes into surgery, she’s very stand offish and a little sarcastic towards him in the beginning, almost as though it’s a way of not getting too close to someone. But as the story thickens, they get closer, the chemistry between them deepens, and oh my god! So so hot that I could feel the heat melting my kindle as I read on!

Taylor is a strong headed independent woman who refuses to ask for help, who seems like she’s always doing things for everyone else but herself!

Mac wants nothing more than to help her in any way he can, to show her that he’s the man for her and the man she needs, Mac has his own drama going on throughout the book too, and both characters can somewhat relate to each others issues.

Together Mac and Taylor are fireworks, extremely hot sex, a whole lot of chemistry, and a lot of drama! This love story isn’t like anything I’ve read before. It’s not your typical romance, it’s so much more! but will he be able to open her eyes? Will she let her guard down?
I was not expecting this storyline whatsoever and I’m so glad it was everything but what I thought!

Angel and Victoria are a force to be reckoned with! I couldn’t think of a better duo to be writing an incredible series like this. They write well together, the story is extremely well written and laid out perfectly. They hit a home run!!

Soooo disappointed

After 9 hours of detailed interactions and then have no real ending is such a load of crap. It’s really too bad because the story itself is engaging and held my interest. The preformed were good and added to the story. I don’t know if the ending is some sort of writer’s creative example but the cliff hanger ruined the whole book for me.

Not my favorite

This story of Mack and Taylor is not my favorite, too much dialogue in their heads. I get she was bought out hard and I understand her journey. Great and got up but it is cliff handed and I already know this is just a disappointment in the story i thought it would be

Lots Of Unnecessary Talking

This is a decent listen, WAY too much talking about nothing. At one point I was like why is there a need to tell about any of what you are saying, just get on with the story line. Geesh!!!

No White Knight

Mac and Taylor met each other in the last book when Mac was brought in after Fletcher's car accident. Now they are in San Diego and Mac is moving there to get out of Chicago and has his eyes on Taylor. She is pretty shut off but he keeps trying to get her to let him in and when he thinks he has we are left with a cliffhanger.

interesting ending!

This couple is a bit confusing, fustrating, angry, and hot all at the same time so i found the ending fitting and yet...I look forward to a sequel.

Not cool.

Someone, anyone, please write an ending to this story. The way this story is left unfinished is frustrating! Maybe have a contest or something to see who can come up with the best acceptable ending. Okay, that's a stupid idea, but come on, really? To just "cliffhanger" the last book in the series?

Did I miss the ending because it was in an earlier book that wasn't included in the plus catalog for free? If I had paid for the premium books and was still left hanging at the end of the series I'd be more than a little angry. Wait, the plus catalog included books aren't free, I pay a membership fee. Well, hell.

Yes, Mac was an ass but Taylor made me lol so many times I really enjoyed this audio book... Right up until the very ridiculous end that was like the author just didn't finish. Or her manuscript was dropped, the bottom stack of pages were lost somehow, no one cared and published it anyway. Either way, not cool.

Could have been better

I think the book would have been better with a lot less Taylor. I actually liked Mac but Taylor was too annoying. She was deliberately rude and nasty to everyone even when unnecessary. She always blamed others for her rotten behaviour when they were only trying to be nice to her. They kept calling her 'sassy' and 'spitfire' though her behaviour was nothing more than obnoxious and name-calling. I found her accent to be annoying and the attempts at colloquialisms were equally as annoying. I grew up in the south and spent a few years of my adult life there and cr@p like that would have gotten you laughed at. I have to admit to being warned regarding Taylor but decided to get the book anyway as a way of at least catching up with the characters from the previous books in the series. I loved those books and characters. This book, not so much. Now, I have to wonder if continuing with Mac's story is enough to tolerate listening to Taylor in the next book in the series. Also, does Devon Grace always have to whisper, especially when doing male voices? It isn't sexy, just irritating.
