Publisher's Summary

Human beings were created to reflect the image of God - but only to a limited extent. Although we share important attributes with God (love, mercy, compassion, etc.), there are other qualities that only God possesses, such as unlimited power, knowledge, and authority. At the root of all sin is our rebellious desire to be like God in such ways - a desire that first manifested itself in the Garden of Eden.

In None Like Him, Jen Wilkin leads us on a journey to discover 10 ways God is different from us - and why that's a good thing. In the process she highlights the joy of seeing our limited selves in relation to a limitless God and how such a realization frees us from striving to be more than we were created to be.

So much!

What a beautifully read book! There is so much depth and wisdom that I'm sure I will listen to it many more times. The author does an exceptional job of making a complex subject understandable. It was enlightening!

A Pirate's Perspective....

Any additional comments?

This book was recommended by a female friend from church. At first glance, I likened her book recommendation, “None Like Him”, to that of offering up a movie night of “Bridges of Madison County” to a Pirate. Never one to forego an opportunity to learn something new, however, I channeled my fatherhood dives into makeup and dress-up night with my daughters and blocked some time to give it a listen with an open heart.

Four hours later, I sat in silence. Trying to grasp the awesomeness of what I had just taken in. Like being drawn graciously out of cold incompetence and gently guided into the warm light of awareness. I felt at peace, and yet ever smaller by comparison to our Lord. By the end, I was no longer a pirate, but a little boy with a wooden sword.

One of the most important reads for spiritual growth!

Spiritual formation should begin with looking at our maker lest we get discouraged by looking at ourselves. I have made this mistake millions of times but this book cast my eyes toward God in a beautiful, concise way. I plan to read and re-read it to set my eyes where they should be!

YES

So often we try to make ourselves God, this book is a powerful reminder that we are not God and that is a good thing! I highly recommend this book for teens and up (younger too, but they might need some help to fully understand)

Fabulous!

This is second of her books that I have read/listened to and it is amazing! I highly recommend reading all of her books. She is an annointed woman of God.

What an eye opener!

This was book was incredibly profound. I loved how Jen relates life experiences to humanity’s inability to be like God in a number of ways. This book will cause you to rethink how you view God’s attributes and how you view yourself. Definitely worth the listen.

None like Him, indeed!

This may have been the most impactful Bible Study I have ever done. I have been a Christian for 50 years, yet became more awestruck by our God with each page turned in this book. None like Him, indeed!!

Author reads. totally relatable!

I really enjoyed how personal and relatable this book felt all because Jen read it!

As for subject matter, each chapter unearthed a hidden thought pattern that was unBiblical. The questions and focus verses in the back lead to deeper reflection.

In summary, easy to enter in and also a path to go deep with the Lord if you choose.

Jen, can we go get coffee? My treat.

Awaken your faith

This book is written with such wisdom and grace. What a joy to read, to be challenged in my faith and yet brought so much closer to God through appreciating his character. A must read for all.
